The Velvet Elvis Pizza Company, established in 1998 by owner and chef, Cecilia San Miguel, has become a destination of its own after former Governor Janet Napolitano designated it "An Arizona Treasure" in 2005. The restaurant is inviting to any culture and is a refreshing blend of organic, natural, modern, hippie, hiker, metaphysical, Western, Native American, Hispanic, upscale, artsy, vegetarian, and meat lovers, or a blend of all of these.

Velvet Elvis compliments Patagonia very well. The kitchen is modern and beautifully designed, always impeccably clean. I have tried several dishes and have never been disappointed. Reservations are not required. I know of no other restaurant of this style, but more would be refreshing.
Services
In 2005 then Gov. of AZ, Janet Napolitano designated the Velvet Elvis "An Arizona Treasure". The restaurant is not named after the "King". It is simply a playful reference to the "Velvet Paintings", a multimillion-dollar business which took place across the Mexican border towns in the 70's.

It is our desire to respectfully introduce our customers to delicious and healthy dining alternatives particularly with our home-made vegetarian soups, organic salads and juice bar choices. We do not compromise our creativity and quality for the sake of profits because we love what we do, and our commitment is to excellence.

Luckily we chose to go to this restaurant for dinner during the Christmas time. We knew nothing about it and thought the name kind of goofy, but we went because a local person said we should try the food. This restaurant is the best Italian restaurant we have ever eaten at. The ingredients and their mixing produce sublime and delicate yet pronounced flavors. The salads compliment the pasta and pizza dishes beautifully and, frankly, are stand alone fare. We didn't know what to expect and once we tasted the food were sad that at that day, we were the only ones in there for dinner. Crazy, this is

We stopped here for a late lunch and had a pineapple & pepperoni pizza which was very tasty. I also really liked the Arnold Palmer I ordered. All of the ingredients tasted exceptionally fresh. The service was friendly and efficient. The owner was there and came to chat with us which was really nice. She recommended some local hiking spots and sites to see which was a very nice added bonus as we are travelers.

I'm totally biased on this Patagonia place. Cecelia, the owner is a fabulous chef! Organic pizzas, calzones and her specials on weekends are so gourmet! I've know Cecelia since 2008, when I managed a ranch bnb in Elgin. We sent guests to this restaurant. And never had any complaints. You can't beat the food, top notch!

Awesome pizza! Not you average pizza shop. Other Italian fare on the menu also. Good service and priced right. Plan to eat here when you explore the little town of Patagonia.

Definitely try the Perisian Ice Cream on a Cookie. Or alone. This Ice Cream is light and flavorful! And the Velvet Margarita was nicely flavored with hibiscus. Fabulous!

This restaurant was nice and we'll maintained. The staff was friendly and prompt. I gave this place 4 stars only because our pizza was not very hot. It was more like room temperature. The pizza itself was very good and fresh but they should have cooked it a little longer. Even with this issue I would give them another try.
