It’s sad to see that only “certain” people can get an appointment. I told my mother about her possibly stop coloring her hair and go natural grey/black. We waited 2 months to grow out or grey then contacted Jack to only find out he is not taking any new clients. Then again there are new clients all the time in his page. Clients from all over coming for his services. We are local and not celebrities. So unable to book an appointment. Now I need to find someone else or just let it grow. Bummer. Stop following him.

This salon/Jack Martin no longer accepts new clients, see attached image. The website and voicemail for the salon do not indicate this, and instead asks you to send detailed info via email (which is a waste of your time, as they don't accept new clients). Unless you're a celebrity, model or someone of influence, don't expect to get an appointment here. What's funny is that almost daily the salon posts new client before/after photos to their Instagram, but don't get your hopes up. Can't wait for my own snarky reply to this very accurate review.

Wow, based on the tone of the response to negative reviews I would never use their services. The best colorist is not necessarily the person who is the best at self promotion, there are many great colorists who do exceptional work at a fraction of the cost. Don’t be blinded by the ego—it’s hair, not rocket science.

I remember asking him if he was good with long hair, and he replied, "it's one of my specialties."
I had to cut my hair off to a "pixie" within 4 months of his so - called transformation, in order to salvage what was left of my long (now very damaged) hair he was supposedly so "specialized" in.
Look at some of his other negative reviews and you'll see a pattern of the abuse this guy doles out. These clients were spot on. I was one who read them but failed to heed the

I had my transformation done with Jack Martin in July of last year. I understood that it would cost $3000 ($1500 up front to reserve the appt and $1500 at completion). I was prepared to pay the fee for my partly grown in grey as I was spending upwards of $200 a month with my colorist to keep it blonde and blend in my grey better.
The transformation with Jack took about 5 hours and I loved the results initially, but at the time had been led to believe that if I followed the guidelines to maintain the beautiful silver, my silver would grow in and would save the time and money for monthly touch

My overall experience with Jack Martin was 5 star. I've had several hairdressers try to correct my color to match my natural platinum gray. To no avail. Until Jack. He's a master. After the most peaceful 5 hours, I can honestly say my hair looks exactly like the hair God gave me

My review is for a silver transformation... I spent almost 10 hours with Jack yesterday. He took my very oddly yellow/orangish and very dark brown (and damaged) striped hair to a lovely, shimmery silver that blends seamlessly with my natural roots. I am shocked how many people complain about the price of having their hair transformed. It's very simple, go somewhere else. How dare anyone judge a man for working hard to make as much money as he can. Isn't that what the Americans dream is all about?? Good for him. He charges a lot but never disappoints. I called Jack and he was very helpful. I sent him pics of my hair and he saved me a trip driving down for the recommendation and price. My experience with Jack was great. I emailed him around 9pm and he responded within minutes. I texted him the next day with daylight pictures of my hair and he responded within minutes again. He was honest and told me he could not help me because he thought my hair would not withstand a silver transformation BUT I can't tell you how much I appreciate his honesty in doing so. Only an experienced artist that cares about his clients would turn down $3,000 because it was not a good option for them. That's passion and honesty in what you do. If you are not serious about wanting to transform your hair then please do NOT waste his time because he is a serious professional at what he does! I spent 9 blissful hours with this kind hearted gentleman and walked away feeling like a freshly hatched butterfly. $4k for color!?! I am not sure who Jack Martin thinks he is, but he quoted me $4,000 to go from brunette to silver. $4k for any 1 day color process, is absolutely ridiculous. AND it's not about "affordability", it's about legitimately trying to take advantage of women who are trying to go through a difficult transition, filled with lots of emotions, judgements and insecurities and Jack Martin is preying on just that. I had such a wonderful experience at Jack Martin Salon! Jack greeted me promptly at my appointment time and discussed my color and the process began and I couldn't have been more happy with my new hair color!

Beyond disappointed with the treatment I received from Jack. He pushed me to speak politics about Syria and was upset when I told him how I felt. He then refused to provide me with any further services claiming he was sick . I then caught him on social media posting he was still seeing clients every day. When I asked him why he had not been honest with me he blocked me from I.G. and when I tried reaching out in regards to my deposit he yelled at me yikes!!

This salon is located in Tustin CA. I followed Jack Martin on Instagram and was really impressed with his videos showing and highlighting his hair cutting skills and helping women Embrace their gray. I decided to schedule an appointment with him and I'm so happy that I did. My hair was very long, one length. I gave him the opportunity to choose a style for me and to be creative. I love the final results. I will definitely go back in the future.

I walked in to this salon for an evaluation and this guy was completely unprofessional, he made me feel extremely uncomfortable with his racist remarks . He compared my hair to a burnt chili. I was baffled at what i was hearing. On top of that his prices are ridiculously high $1,800 - $2,500 and for a haircut you got to place 50% deposit and book within 3mos. Im not sure if he treats like that all POC, but if i were you i'd run from this place. Also, the salon was dirty and old.

I went to Jack Martin to transition to gray. His price point was high, but it is worth every penny. I was given professional service along with personal attention to detail. The entire process was completed in one day - walked in with crazy gray roots, and walked out with a gorgeous, glamorous full head of beautiful salt-and-pepper hair.
I would recommend Jack's Salon for a once-in-a-lifetime transformation...!

I wish I would have read reviews before coming in for consultation. I realized it was going to be expensive but the $1200 quote for hi lights shocked me. Then I tried to simply share my experience with His Instagram followers because people are always curious on his pricing and he immediately got defensive and basically said he didn't want to do my hair regardless of price. The BEST salon experience in Orange County, possibly the WORLD ! Jack is hands down the most talented master colorist/stylist that has ever touched my hair. He took my hair from complete ruins and made it beautiful again! If I ever wanted to make a huge color correction I would trust none other than Jack Martin. Besides the master level of his skills they also treat you like family and make you feel at home always offering delicious coffee or a snack! I can't recommend this place enough!
