Jennifer DeBow, Mondo Italiano partner, knew exactly what she wanted to do when she conceived of the restaurant - she longed to capture the flavor of the East Coast Italian American food that she had enjoyed during her childhood in Manhattan. Creating amazing pizza pies and pastas, Chef Jennifer DeBow gets down to basics with the simplest and best known of all Italian dishes: pizza.

Based on previous reviews, the recommendation from my hotel and the wait (30 minutes), I thought this place would be delicious. Unfortunately, I was let down. The sign on the wall says fresh made pasta (including ravioli) but our server said they no longer fresh make the pasta, just the fillings. I decided to go with spaghetti and my husband got a calzone. We did not like the calzone; the crust (which is the same as the pizza crust from what we're told) was sweet and dry. The filling was minimal; it didn't have the extra mozzarella that it was supposed to, it barely had any ricotta and

Really enjoyed the food. If you're not starving and are not able to take home some, definitely order the 1/2 portions. The servings were beyond generous. We were travelling through, so a lot of delicious egg plant Parmesan went to waste.
As with virtually every restaurant in our post Covid experience, they're still working out the kinks in some of the procedures but the food made up for any service types issues.
We'll definitely try again

This place has gone down hill. I used to love it but never eating there again. Took an hour and a half to receive Alfredo and cheese ravioli. The fettuccine noodles were literally crunchy. The Alfredo sauce has no flavor at all and chicken was over cooked. My boyfriend said his ravioli was worse than chef boyardee lol I also asked for a soda multiple times and the server just kept forgetting. I don’t like the excuse of it being understaffed either because there were only 4 tables and 3 servers. I’ve been to much busier places and gotten great service. The server couldn’t even check on us

The food here is upstate NY style Italian. I’d give the restaurant a 5 star review if they weren’t (like everywhere) severely understaffed. The pizza is great. We tend to always get green chile & mushroom pizza, because it’s all we can agree on in my house. The calzones are a special treat. I believe I ordered the eggplant so many times they have it as a standard option now in the calzones. Unlike other restaurants the broccolini is also a staple side and I highly recommend it over the pasta. I think their fettuccine Alfredo is truly special. Her recipe is unique. The extra nutmeg gives it

We were in town for the day and looking forward to a local recommendation. The server was very nice and attentive. The decor is ok.
The food was mediocre. I am Not a picky eater but when I order something with goat cheese in it...I want to see and taste goat cheese...the pasta penne was drowning in olive oil and garlic.
My 2 companions also were not thrilled with their choices. How do you mess up a Greek salad?
Hopefully it was an off day for them....We won't be back

Excellent pizza. Sauce is fresh and clean tasting. The crust was well developed and tender. The sausage and peppers were absolutely authentic, with just the right amount of vinegar. The mozzarella sticks were fantastic. Lightweight batter, much like tempura. Wait staff was super attentive and prompt. Love Mondo

If I could give a negative 5 star review, I would. The pasta was bland (idea, try salting the water when cooking the pasta.....it makes a huge difference!). The sauce was watery and soup-like, regardless if marinara or al Fredo. Also, hard Lady fingers covered in whipped cream are not a tiramisu but an insult to Italian cuisine. It took over an hour to receive our food. (Tables seated after us were served before us) And, when we asked for that sorry excuse of a tiramisu to be removed from the check, we got nothing but bad attitude from the server who returned and threw the check on the table. The place was a ghost town but with COVID it's understood.
The food was ok, my friends was great! My Alfredo was dry and not too tasty. It is a little pricey but a good choice if in Taos and you need something non Mexican to eat. Sometimes a lol variety is great! The staff was friendly and the location was clean and COVID safe.

Traveling from Colorado and it was my son’s birthday, the staff were fantastic and made it special for him. Our food was ready in about 15 minutes with great portions sizes as well as was very tasty and the… dessert we chose, a chocolate moose pyramid, was delicious. Also, it was affordable; our birthday celebration of 3 people cost a little over $60 and that was with us all treating ourselves. Overall it was an excellent customer service and food experience in Taos.

Gave this place 3 chances. Each time I have ordered, its obvious they did not start making my food until after I got there as I had to wait 20 to 30 min upon arrival to get my food. Never did I arrive earlier… then the time specified. Forgot the sauce for my chicken the 2nd time and forgot to put the pasta in my chicken parm this time. So, I have a carton of chicken, no pasta. And that is after waiting an extra 20 min for the food.

I ordered food over the phone for pick-up and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. 40 mi utes later I called because I couldn't go in due to COVID-19 and the order was ready. The bill was VERY high for lunch & after I got back to my hotel I realized why. The person who took my order charged me for 4 appetizers and I only ordered 2.
The food was just ok. It was not bad but not great. I had the penne primavera that was supposed to be full of veggies, it wasn't. My daughter had the chicken fettuccine, it tasted strangely sweet. The tomato bruschetta was not great. The goat cheese

We really wanted to like Mambo's and based on the average rating it seemed like a good pick, but the food was just bad. The garlic bread was almost as hard as bruschetta, and the ceaser dressing was yellow. Not to mention the dressing was almost flavorless with just the occasional hint of fish. The pasta dishes were just ok. We ordered the carbonara which traditionally has a sauce made with egg yolks, the pasta came out and it had scrambled egg pieces in it... we also ordered the penne ricotta which was average, but the sliced sausage in the dish was a questionable dark grey as if it had

HORRIBLE customer service and the food has gone downhill!!
We placed a pick up order today at noon, went to pick it up, made it home and found out that instead of getting the mushroom ravioli (my former favorite) we ordered was cheese ravioli. Not to mention that we didn't get the bread we ordered. We called back and the woman who took the order said she put it in the system wrong and that our bread wasn't ready yet (funny how they didn't mention that when we picked up the order). She had to talk to the manager about getting us the right order since she put it in the system wrong
