Whether you're coming from the slopes, a hike, Goose Lake, or an easy day at home, Bull O' the Woods is the best place in town to fuel your Red River recreation. The watering hole we know today as Bull O' the Woods Saloon opened in the summer of 1939. Our name has changed a few times throughout the decades, but we are now the same thing we were then: home to the best beers, burgers, steaks, and live music in Red River.
Loaded Nachos 13 Loaded with house smoked pulled pork, lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, salsa, and sour cream. Wedge Salad 12 Iceberg wedge topped with bleu cheese crumble, tomato, house cured bacon, and your choice of Ranch or Bleu Cheese dressing. Appetizer Combo 14 Jalapeno popper bites, spicy corn fritters, Wisconsin Cheese curds, pork potstickers, and buffalo breaded cauliflower served with assorted dipping sauces.
This tee pays homage to the classic scene depicted in stained glass above our saloon doors. The back features the text from the sign right under it that says Watch Your Step. It's 8,671 feet to sea level. This pre-shrunk sueded jersey tee provides exceptional comfort in a classic retail fit. We went here many years ago and enjoyed it. Staff were friendly. We stopped here about 3 yrs ago it was ok. Staff wasn't at all friendly but food was fine. This year It was close to our cabin so we checked their hours of operation however when we arrived 30 minutes after opening time we were told they weren't serving food for 2 more hours.

The whole town and STATE has a mask mandate. Yet, this restaurant/bar doesn't even require their employees to wear them as a necklace......

Go into to get a cheeseburger, ordered plain. It comes up and it has lettuce, tomatoes and pickles on it and no cheese. Told them it wasn't right and watched the cook simply take off the garbage and send it back out, without cheese as well.

We stopped in for a few beers and quick dinner after a long day traveling. They have a really good selection of beer, but the draft beer wasn’t very cold and two of the 3 we tried had no head at all đŸ˜Ÿ. The two bar tenders were friendly enough, but completely inattentive. I watched several patrons walk. I- and down the length of the bar trying to get the bartender to wait on them, and though we were sitting at the bar we also had difficulty a getting service. If the service is this poor on an off-season Tuesday night, I can’t imagine what it’s like in full season.

HA. If you're from out of state do not go to this bar. It's insane. My friends and I went to the bar tonight to grab a few drinks, but some of us were denied. We are all 21+ with some of us being upwards of 23. The reasoning was because some of our IDs are still vertical. Another was because the ID said "not for federal use" which was printed on two of the IDs that they did allow into the bar, and all IDs without the new gold star feature say this. I understand turning away a group of overly drunk underage people, but we were none of the above. I truly hope they see these reviews

Drove from Angel Fire to see Rudy Boys who were coming through on a tour and advertised to play at 9pm. Well, they didn't show up. We ask someone at the bar if they were playing and she said they haven't been seen but her guy who was there from Santa Fe to watch and was hoping to jam with them, offered to play in their absence (for free, drinks only). The microphone wasnt working, then the spotlights on stage went out, and no one seemed to be supporting the musician. What a shame, and now know why the Rudy Boys didn't show. This talented guy "Tim Arnold" was playing Stevie

Overall, I got what I expected from this place! The Bloody Mary is definitely the best drink here - I loved the additional goodies in the glass - pickled okra, olives and peppers.
I came during happy hour, and the female bartender initially tried to charge the full price of mine and my husband's beverages. My husband asks "isn't it happy hour?" And she responds with "oh yeah. $5 each" Each beverage during happy hour is $4.
Not sure if she's just not knowledgeable about where she works, or if she tries to deceive travelers? Either way, I get that $1 isn&apos

Well, I was able to get a drink at the bar,10 pm on a Sunday night, seconds from last call, so i guess this place is okay. Just rolled into town on a random road trip, spending the night at the lodge across the street. Everything else in town was already closed. (Funny, I'd heard that Red River was a hopping little town in the summer, but I guess not. Or at least not on Sunday.) But these guys were open, and friendly. Bartender didn't skimp on the alcohol, so ... Yeah.

Came in for dinner because we tried to go to Sundance but got turned away because they were full! We had a ribeye with mashed potatoes & New York strip with green beans and OMG! Amazing!!! The steaks were cooked perfectly and the service was amazing! Chelsea & Crocket and Todd are always on top of it when it comes to service and working the bar!
Couldn't of had a better ending to 2016! Cheers to 2017 & amazing service!

Place has indoor and outdoor seating which was the best part of our experience. They have a Corn Hole game set up outside. Had to walk inside to counter to order food. And then over to bar to order beer. Burger was a little high priced for a burger and beer is too. It wasn't that busy but took half an hour to get our food. There were folks that were there before us that had not gotten theirs yet. Got the green chili burger and glad we did because without the chilies it would have had no taste. Will not go back.
