My name is Julie D. Wirtz. I am a licensed marriage performer in Hawaii, also known as a wedding officiant. I'm a humanistic minister, life tribute specialist and funeral celebrant on the island of Kauai! In 2006, I started performing weddings in Seattle and on Kauai. I divided my time between Seattle and Kauai that year until I became a permanent full time resident of Kauai in 2007. There is nowhere on earth I'd rather be than here on Kauai. I love it! I am a licensed Marriage Performer with the State of Hawaii.
Here are the types of services I provide and my current rates. I require a 50% deposit along with my booking agreement to hold your date. The marriage ceremonies I perform are usually pretty short, sweet and simple. You can choose from my many sample ceremonies, or use them for inspiration to create your own unique ceremony script.
Yes, I'm fully vaccinated and we will keep reasonable distance during the event while unmasked. This agreement becomes effective, with 50% deposit, reserving the officiant services of Julie D. Wirtz, for date and time agreed upon. Cancellations with more than 30 days notice may forfeit some of the deposit, at the officiant's discretion.

I highly recommend Julie! We live on the mainland so I needed to coordinate everything with her ahead of time remotely and she was very responsive, professional and provided us with some great recommendations. The location and time of day for the ceremony she suggested was perfect. She customized our ceremony to be unique to us and made the day everything we hoped it would be. Julie did a great job with our wedding ceremony at shipwreck beach. She put us at ease through the whole process taking into consideration that we were arriving to Kauai when Hurricane Lane was approaching. She kept us informed and was very flexible to reschedule when we were concerned that it would rain. I would definitely recommend, Julie. She guided us through the whole application process, answered all of our questions and met with us personally before the ceremony. Everything that I have expected!

Julie performed our wedding ceremony on Kauai this week. It was a destination wedding, so all communication leading up to the event was via email. She was SO communicative, informative, and helpful. We changed plans on her last minute, and she was very flexible. She is very knowledgeable on the island and will most likely be able to lead you to a dozen beautiful locations. My wife made an online booking with Julie, a Celebrant, from outside the USA My wife had not spoken with Julie directly over the phone, so she had no sense of the personality of the celebrant.

She was extremely helpful when we were deciding what we wanted our ceremony to be and was extremely flexible. Julie is an amazing officiant! From our first communication we knew Julie was the one for us with her quick friendly email response. She not only asked us questions so she would be able to perform the ceremony in a manner and place that fit us, but also met with us to learn about us and our relationship. We found Julie while searching online for an officiant in Kauai. She was very responsive to email, providing suggestions for planning. Her website is a jewel. We used her lists to search for many vendors. We used at least 3 of her listed professionals (photography, makeup, and music). Julie met us the day before our ceremony. She was delightful. I found Julie before my now husband even proposed to me. I saved her information, and as soon as we booked our trip to Kauai, I contacted her. She performed our ceremony on Christmas Eve afternoon on Hideaways Beach below Pali Ke Kua.
Julie is very easy to work with long distance. Once we arrived on the island, she came to meet us and we had a great conversation about what we would like included in our wedding. She is full of suggestions and just puts you at ease with her calm, friendly manner.

Julie performed our wedding on 9/27/13 and did an excellent job. She is very professional and works very had on making your day extra special. My husband and I aren't very religious and so she provided many examples and feedback on how to customize it to our taste. I would highly recommend Julie's services for your special day in Kauai.

I cannot say enough good things about Julie. She met with us a few days before we were to have our ceremony. We were a little concerned, because we had our ceremony on a Sunday, which is typically a family beach day for all, and we didn't want a crowded location. Julie suggested the perfect place for us and our guests, and we couldn't be happier. She even went to the beach a few days before to make sure the sunlight would be good for the pictures, which we really appreciated the extra care. Julie never rushed us around, and made sure that she really understood what we were looking for

Julie was fabulous to deal with. She met with us a month prior to our wedding to go over the basics of how we wanted our ceremony to be performed. She was easy to get a hold of when I had questions.
On the day of our wedding she did an awesome job. Everything was taking care of for us. All we had to do was show up, exchange our vows, and sign where we needed to. Her fees included obtaining the beach permit and filing the marriage certificate to the courthouse. At the end she presented us with a nice portfolio of our ceremony vows.

My husband and I got married on Kauai on February 26, 2011. Our wedding officiant was Julie Wirtz, who we found online. We liked Julie's style. She's spiritual, but not religious and was had a really laid back and personable style. Plus, she was willing to give us kamaaina rates because my husband grew up on the island.
We worked with Julie to come up with a ceremony that had some Hawaiian flair, but was not over the top or cheesy. We talked to Julie about our goals of the wedding and the ceremony and she made sure that our ceremony met those goals.

Julie was awesome, meeting with us the day before the ceremony and suggesting various beach sites we could use (she also obtained the requisite beach permit for us).
