Amelia at Primp Salon is the best hair stylist! She listens to the client and also offers her professional advice if requested. She truly wants the best experience to her client and goes above and beyond to accomplish it. My hair is very thick, coarse and curly and she knows exactly how to take care of it. She's the hair blowout Queen! She did an amazing job with coloring my hair, shampooing it and hair blowout this weekend. She is super patient and never once have I felt rushed while being there: The 45 min drive is so worth it!

Wow! Just Wow!
Thank you Amelia for an Amazing layered haircut.
Amelia not only cuts hair very well but she listened to my concerns and was patient while I explained how I wanted my layers done.
On top of that she had to work with correcting the bad uneven haircut I got at skylight salon last week.
I highly recommend Amelia. You will not be disappointed.

I had an appointment with Amelia for a shampoo, deep condition and haircut. My hair hadn't been cut for a year, if not longer, and the ends were pretty damaged due to lots of color and bleaching in the past. I was so happy to find Amelia! The salon itself is in downtown McKinney and is so beautifully decorated - it doesn't feel like some sort of hospital lobby! Amelia's assistant did the shampoo and deep condition and was friendly, thorough and so soft. Amelia does an amazing job. I am in my late forties with fine (not thin:-)) hair, thought I would have to cut it all off just so that it would look good. But Amelia was able to cut and color it so that I was able to keep most of my length. This is by far the best haircut and color I have ever received. Best part is that even when I wash and dry it it still looks good.

I've had a great experience these past two times that I've been here! I got a haircut here and also got my hair dyed here before. I came back because I thought Amelia did a great job cutting my hair! I appreciate Amelia because she was very honest with me and recommended me great products to use on my hair to keep it soft (Moroccan oil; works like a miracle!!). She was also very nice and friendly!

I had an appointment at 1130 with Amelia. She was working on another girl when I showed up but told me it would just be a few minutes until her assistant would take me back and she would consult with me. Thirty minutes later I check back with her on how much longer and she is working on another girl!!!! She is maybe half way through with blowing drying her hair but again tells me it will just be a few minutes. The only reason why this place is not getting 5 stars is only because the last time I went they had no ac--it was so hot. But the stylist did my hair well and FOR ONCE I didn't walk out of there thinking "at least I can fix it when I get home." It's not easy to find stylists that are good. She doesn't just hop to whatever you want but tells you what would look good with your head shape or color. Stylist are too often wanting whatever the fad is and don't take into consideration that one cut/style doesn't look good on everyone. Two thumbs up!

I won't be back. Nothing special. Stylist was 30 minutes late on appointment which is totally ok if you communicate that to the client. She did not.
Her station was not cleaned after her last client ( hair everywhere) and overall unprofessional with conversation and process (example: she didn't sit me down in her chair and ask me what I was looking for, she started right away on a shampoo. This place is super cute with a vintage feel to it. I had a hair appointment with Amelia, and she's wonderful! She was able to recreate exactly what I had in mind, even though all I had to show her was a few examples from Pinterest (which, by the way, weren't even all the same).
I didn't get a chance to check out the boutique, but I'll definitely be back since Amelia is now my go-to stylist! Thanks, girl!
