Imperial Roofing is one of the oldest roofing contractors in Polk County, having being founded in Winter Haven, Florida in September of 1962 by John E. Harp. John had previously worked as a roofing foreman for Winter Haven Roofing Company for about 10 years when the company closed. At that time he bought the company out and Imperial Roofing was born.
In 1978, John decided to make his oldest son, Donnie Harp, a partner in the family business, where Donnie was already a valued employee. Donnie now resides as company president, after the passing of his father, in 1991. At that time, Donnie brought his younger brother, Kenny, in as his partner and vice president in.
