I had ordered their Lunch Special via Doordash. Food was ' Fresh & Good '. The ' Service ' can be better. The guy who took questions on the Relephone was kind of - Abrupt & Standoffish ' ....
Hope they can get through the Pandemic !!!
I was here a couple years ago and One of the Owners was ' Extremely Polite & Rather Accomidating ' I thought !!! All in All worth a try I'd say !!!!

We ordered lamb shank, veggie korma, dal fry, the Bhangra naan, and rice. If your accustomed to eating Mexican, Sichuan or other food with heat, you will find "mild" here not enough. It was our first time ordering and everyone has a different sense of mild because some places mild can be quite spicy. This is not the case where - it's good just no heat.
All items were delicious and fresh and we order again at medium level. I saw a review that said medium was not way too hot and I would have to disagree. Didn't even raise my temp by a degree.

I love this place, it’s definitely my go-to Indian food…always delicious and comforting, the service is friendly and efficient. I like the feel of a family owned business, everyone is working hard to keep the place at a high level of serving and quality. Highly recommended for indoor seating too! And of course take out :)

Simon is a great greeter and table service man. He knows the food here. I suspect he's also a fan.
Interiors are lush without being overdone. Romantic even. I liked how clean an fresh it was. My lovely wife and daughter were impressed with the layers of flavor. The food is incredible. Lovely ocre colored plates, faux hammered water cups, the tika masala was served in a cute copper pot as the wappetizers. Perfect selection. Basmati rice, garlic naan,Naan, chicken tikka masala, lamb biriani, lamb boti kabob, paper chaat appetiser. Soooi delish.
Service, restaurant, food, all wonderful.

As an Indian I felt the food was bland. I don't mind paying higher prices for excellent food, but this place is on the pricey side for Mediocre dishes. Some appetizers were good. The service was good. The south Indian dishes weren't great; but we should have known better as this place serves north and south Indian dishes which is not common.

I'm going to try the sandwich approach for this review. First, a few details. I recently found the sister restaurant in Berkeley and was excited to try it due to the advertisement of gluten free and vegan options. It's often hard to identify these options at other Indian restaurants. Craving Indian tonight, I had planned to go to the one in Berkeley but noted bad reviews so decided to make the trek from Oakland to Albany. We ordered 6 items with one order of rice and roti for a grand total of $110. Now here comes the sandwich....
The good: food was prepared on time and mostly came in

I have been searching for an incredible north Indian place that can combine good taste, ingredient quality and service. And I finally found it.
The Tikka masala sauce and Pepper sauce (might have been a special) were incredible. The garlic naan was cooked well. Most of all - the food didn't feel heavy. Already planning to go in again this week : )
For those familiar with Mughlai style of cooking - this is the spot!

Amazing food and amazing place as always. This has been our regular spot for superb Ghar jaisa (homestyle) veg and non-veg Indian food. Especially being an Indian, we come from Pleasanton/ Fremont to eat their food. Ram bhai and Krishna aunty are amazing hosts. They always recommend something according to our taste and spice level. Must try is their kadhai paneer, kadhai chicken, hara Bhara kabeb, fish pakora and chicken 65. Will post pictures the next time :)
To the owners: please continue with your warm welcoming and awesome food. Thank you for sharing and we hope to see you soon again. 😍

Food is good and always consistent. Service on the other hand, was subpar on the night I went. They forgot to place my order with the kitchen. I arrived an hour later to pick up and that was when they placed it. There was no apology. Just a dismissive, "We were busy with other orders when you ordered. But now that we're less busy we can make it and you'll get your food hot." That was it. No acknowledgement of any wrongdoing and no apologies. Good thing for me there are plenty of other Indian restaurants in the area! 😂.

Well - I really have enjoyed Delhi diner in the past but this was an experience I do not want to repeat.
The good: the paneer tikka masala and the rest of our food.
The bad: there was Raita packaged TIGHTLY with a channa dish and after opening the bag I noticed 2 odd things: 1) there were loose red onions in the bag and 2) the raita had exploded. No issue just a little spill so I opened the container to try some and to my horror, it was bubbling which I did not notice before eating.
The taste was fermented almost and I spit it out immediately. Clearly this had gone bad either in transit or

I wish I can give -ve review or zero star for this God awful place. We came from out of station and we're super hungry. They brought chicken lollipop with no salt/seasoning. Then the roghan Josh and chicken Tikka came in with no salt at all. Now we ate lollipop cause we were super hungry with no complaints at all. But curry was impossible to eat with no salt. We told the old Indian lady waiter/manager the same. But she blatantly refused and said this is how things are made for American people. I have been here since almost a decade never got such bad service and rude response at all. As if we have

The food was amazing and will be coming again and will recommend friends to come here. I would recommend the lamb. The house lemonade was great the ginger had a little kick but was really good. Median spice was perfect for me and mild for my girlfriend. I loved the decoration and the dishes color. Please support this local business and give them a shot and I definitely think they will blow your socks off

One and a half years later, I'm able to eat indoors at my favorite Indian restaurant, Delhi Diner! Everything about this restaurant deserves five stars.
I came tonight with my Dad for dinner where we shared our favorite items. We had the Vegetable Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, Basmati Rice, and Garlic Naan. The Vegetable Samosas were loaded with savory soft potatoes and peas. I like how they were cut into fourths which made it easier to eat. The Chicken Tikka Masala was tender, the curry was smooth and flavorful, and the medium spice was perfect--not tongue burning but not too mild. The

One of the better Indian spots in Berkeley, reasonably priced, conveniently located on Telegraph, quick service. I came here for an early dinner yesterday (~4:30p Tuesday) and had the luxury of ordering as the only one in the restaurant.
Got the chicken tikka masala (pictured), which came out to about $10. Food was warm, naan soft, and chicken servings a little-less-than-generous. Other reviewers seem to be content with the flavor and spice, but I thought it was a touch on the bland side. Could just be the curry I got - guess I'll have to come back and try something else next time!

Wanted to like this place because of the reviews but they are misleading. I ordered the masala dosa, saag paneer, rice, naan, samosa, and spinach cheese samosa. The samosas were good but everything else tasted like water. Everything had no flavor - we asked for medium spice and tasted no spice - there didn't even seem to have salt added! The green chutney was super watery and had no flavor, just tasted like water. The tamarind chutney was better (the only flavorful chutney). There was a turmeric chutney and it literally tasted like turmeric powder and water, again no spice or flavor. The sambar

Thoughts from a vegetarian turned vegan Indian-American who has grown up eating Indian food:
Yes! Just yes! We ordered online and drove over to pick up on a Saturday mid-afternoon during shelter in place because I was super excited to try the new vegan items on the menu. There were no other customers there at the same time as me, so no social distancing or line to worry about.
Last time I ordered from here, they were out of the items I wanted to try, so back again to try again. I saw that they've expanded their vegan selection to include a lot more items which I'm ecstatic about!

I came with a friend who wanted vegan Indian food and after looking at reviews we came to Delhi Diner. We got the Navratan Korma, and saag with tofu and while portions were big, we were that impressed with the food. We've had better. The korma lacked salt and flavor (not nutty at all) and the tofu in the saag tasted like it was previously frozen and not fresh. The naan was just ok. The best thing we tasted was the mint chutney. Service was a little weird. I ordered the chai tea which came tasting like warm milk with no chai or tea flavor and the waitress wouldn't take it off my table. She argued
