When you are looking to sell gold in Seattle and the greater Puget Sound area, please call us at Sound Gold Buyers. We also buy silver, platinum, and diamonds. Don't mail your precious metal items to some online company you've never done business with. How about a coin dealer that knows coins, but has limited knowledge of jewelry or diamonds?
Come to our convenient Seattle location to sit down with a 4th generation jeweler who will weigh and grade your precious metals and diamonds honestly, insuring that you are being paid for the true weight of your valuables. In addition to buying jewelry for scrap, we also buy jewelry for re-sale. Items for re-sale are valued based upon comparable re-sale prices rather than their intrinsic commodity value.

Services
We are a locally owned company with four generations of jewelry experience buying and selling gold and silver in Seattle, WA. Our business model is simple: keep our overhead low so we can pay you the most money for your gold and diamonds. We are not a pawn shop, rare coin dealer, nor jewelry store with inventory sitting on the shelves that we have to pay for by passing those costs on to the customer.
206-660-0899 to schedule an appointment to sell your gold, silver, and diamonds in Seattle. Please don't let the "by appointment" request prevent you from giving us a call, as we can normally fit you in quickly with a same day appointment. We are located in the Crown Hill neighborhood of Seattle, just ten minutes north of Downtown Seattle.
You can't escape the ads to buy or sell gold. In tough economic times, gold becomes even more popular as an investment making it a great time to sell gold you may have and no longer need. But really, what do you know about selling gold? If you are like most of us, nothing! You may have gone through your drawers and found old gold items you inherited or just no longer wear, but how do you go about selling it?
I called Sound Gold Buyers yesterday to schedule an appointment to have some old jewelry looked at. Ben was able to fit me in that evening and provided me extra instructions on where to park at that time of day. He was also very gracious when I called en route to tell him I would be a few minutes late because of traffic.

Ben was friendly on the phone and friendly in the office. Among other items, I had a pair of minuscule diamond earrings to sell. I'm not sure they were worth anything (I was kind of embarrassed to ask), but he didn't make any comments about how small they were. I was in and out in about ten minutes. It's a great place to go for unwearable jewelry.

I have had lying around, bits and pieces of broken sterling silver jewelry, lost pairs of earrings, and jewelry I just don't wear anymore. I contacted Sound Gold Buyers because of the beaming reviews I have read. I found my visit to match the positive experience of those who have frequented his place. I made an easy appointment with Ben and the process was very pleasant and quick. He carefully combed through the pieces I brought, he explained how he came up with his quote and soon after I was on my way. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to sell and/or find out the value

Everyone loves Ben. As a gold buyer they don't get any more fair than he is. He takes the time to explain everything and makes you feel comfortable. I had some difficulty getting into the store as I have a bad leg . Ben held the door for me and this is exactly the kind of gentleman he is. I give my recommendation with a hearty 5 stars. Learning to love again is the first step when you are selling your old jewelry.

We've done business with Ben twice now. He did an excellent job explaining the worth of the jewelry and gold we brought in and how he determined its value. I felt he was honest and gave us a good price for our raw gold and jewelry. He's a one man operation whose family has a long history in the jewelry business so he is knowledgeable and experienced. The building his shop is in is not attractive, but don't let that deter you. I recommend making an appointment ahead of time.

Ben was very nice, thorough, and fair. He was willing to let me use his loupe to read the carat percentage on the chain that I was selling, and carefully explained to me the value. He paid a bit over 75% of the spot market price for gold, which as far as I understand is very reasonable (and much better than you'll get from most online gold buyers). I would definitely take anything else I wanted to sell to him.

I am a fan and have had 3 separate, very positive experiences. A few thoughts:
Ben is the proprietor, and he is a one-man operation, if I'm not mistaken. He's also the 4th in line in his family to manage this business. I find him to be affable, straightforward, helpful, and honest.
We are so lucky these days to have access to endless info - both verified and anecdotal - about nearly every topic online. I suggest you do your research.
In New York City, for example, the jewelry and antiques businesses are known to be very shrewd, not always very customer-friendly, but a great option

BEN is the Best.
Trust worthy. Patient. Gives you maximum amount for your jewelry compared to others in the Puget Sound area. The building and the office where his business is being conducted is like sitting in a 1970's movie, in other words.....old. The place is safe and most importantly I felt very very comfortable talking to Ben who explains in detail about my jewelry and the true market value of it. You will never feel cheated working with Ben. You will never feel like someone took advantage of you. Most importantly you will always feel you have a friend in the jewelry business that

The FIRST time I went here, it was a 5 star experience! Ben was so helpful, kind, and went through each piece carefully. I was treated with respect and I was very impressed. SO impressed in fact, that I thought I would only use Ben as I go through my Mom's estate.
I went back the second time and it was like a completely different person! He was abrasive, he didn't go through each piece individually like he did the first time. He asked where I got all the jewelry in a non professional way. I was so uncomfortable, I just sold some of it and then he told me to wait to deposit the check

Excellent experience during my appointment with Ben. He gave me market rates for my jewelry after testing and explaining the testing process in front of me. He's honest, professional and approachable.
Be sure to make an appointment, the door is kept locked for security reasons and you need to ring the bell to be let in the office. The whole experience is smooth and efficient when you have an appointment and he expects you.
He will cut you a Bank of America check on site right then and there, which you can take to the BOA just up the street.

Like other reviewers, I had a very satisfying experience with Ben at Sound Gold and found him to be smart, patient, honest and helpful with information. I will definitely choose him next time as well.
One suggestion I have for Ben is to use a worksheet for each customer that specifies the weight of the silver/gold in each carat and the value based on the prices of the day, and then another line for the percentage fee he takes so that customers can easily see how he got to the bottom line offer. When I left his shop, I realized that I didn't know how much my stuff weighed (my bad - I didn

Yet another yelp discovery! Solid, sound, patient, fair and honest jewelry buyer. Ben way exceeded my expectations even given all the great reviews he already had. I was surprised to note we even shared some long term friends in common.
Wouldn't even dream about selling jewelry, gold or silver to any other local business. Make sure you are punctual to your meeting time and polite on the phone. I am sure they have to deal with a lot of flakes and otherwise shady people so establishing yourself differently and respectfully , will make a big difference in the quality of your experience.

I was cleaning out my jewelry box and I had jewelry that I bought back when I was in my 20's, stuff I haven't used for over a decade and would not use now and nothing my daughter wanted. I checked on Yelp to see who I should bring my jewelry to and this is how I found Ben. (Thanks to all the yelpers, your input was very helpful).
I brought my items to Ben and he gave me a very fair price $$$$$.
He explained the process and how he test the metals. He is very nice and professional.
Quick tip: If you are going to see him it is best to make an appointment.

This guy is wonderful and I felt like he was honest. We came here a year ago after just moving to Seattle and needed some extra cash. I brought in a few gold chains, wedding ring and diamond ring. The place itself isn't very big and I felt a little awkward (first timer) but he was very polite, attentive and quick. Plus all the good reviews!
Found out one chain was magnetic and probably just plated (basically worthless) so I kept it but I got a good price for the gold wedding ring and other chains. The diamond ring I wasn't sure on because you always expect to get more then you're

I reluctantly sold for scrap a partial set of antique silver flatware in less-than-excellent condition that had been my great grandmother's and agree with the overwhelming tide of Yelpers that Ben Robbins and Sound Gold Buyers are great to work with. Given the financial and emotional difficulty that can be a factor when selling precious heirlooms, I appreciate Sound Gold Buyers' appointment-only discretion, Ben's relaxed business demeanor and the small personal touch of being offered a beverage before sitting down to have my valuables inspected. Ben takes a reasonable commission
