Like you, we love animals and know they are much more than "just a dog, " "just a cat, " "just an iguana, " or "just a snake". Our pets warm our hearts, comfort us in illness and are always good listeners. They are our friends, companions, and family. Knowing how important these animals are in your life, it is an honor to care for these important members of your family.
We treat your pets like family and are committed to celebrating and protecting the human-animal bond. For those of you that haven't visited our facility, we'd like to extend a warm welcome to both you and your pets to our clinic. We pledge to provide the highest quality veterinary care, education, and compassion to both you and your pets.

Services
Veterinary medicine has long recognized the importance of preventive care. Regular examinations are important to identify problems before they become serious and to discuss ways to keep your pet healthy. Today you can do much more than protect your animal friend from Rabies and Distemper. There are many more vaccines to prevent a wide variety of illnesses including Lyme disease.
We are honored to be among the 15 percent of small animal veterinary clinics in the country that are accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). The standards require hospitals to provide diagnostic services (x-ray and laboratory) so that they can quickly and accurately diagnose your pet.
Thompson Animal Medical Center has joined forces with Central Animal Hospital and Hillside Animal Hospital to provide after-hours emergency care to ensure that your pets will have continued access to after-hours emergency care here in the La Crosse area.
Because both Central Animal Hospital and Hillside Animal Hospital are also AAHA accredited veterinary practices, you can expect the same high standard of care at all three of the participating clinics.Call Thompson Animal Medical Center at the regular clinic number for all your pets' medical emergencies; no matter the time of day.

To spay or not to spay? To neuter or not to neuter? Except in very rare situations, those should not be the questions when you adopt a puppy or kitten. Think of it this way. By spaying and neutering your dog or cat, you can help improve a world that is sadly overpopulated with unwanted dogs and cats.

This review was from 2 years ago and I had to update this because I still go there with my kitty and now my puppy as well and I just can't give this place and the vets, techs, and receptionists enough credit and good reviews. They are all so incredibly caring and loving towards my pets and so helpful and caring to the owner (me) ❤ Every worry (and I worry alot lol) they answer all my questions (even if I call alot) and take their time with me every single time.

I am a long-standing client at Thompson's And would recommend them for anyone seeking top notch Veterinary care for their pets. Sadly, my friend was a client at a different veterinary facility. When her dog, Willow, had a urinary tract infection, her vet could not get her in for 2 weeks! I called Thompson's, and although Willow had not gone there before, they got her in the same day! Luckily, my friend was now a Thompson's client, because a month and a half later, Willow was attacked by another dog. I was walking Willow at the time of the attack. Willow's ear was badly severed , she had bite wounds
