Services
Because we know you love your pets dearly, we offer a pain free, comprehensive experience for your companion. Our Preventive Visit includes a medical exam for physical inspection. We look inside through blood, urine, and fecal samples. A complete check-up inside and out. Our goal is a healthy, happy pet and family for many years.
Our surgery suite is equipped with all that is needed to provide sterile, safe, and comfortable surgery including a heated surgery table, specialized monitoring equipment, gas scavenging system, surgical and therapeutic lasers. Our recovery room offers a climate controlled environment to maintain your pet's body temperature while recovering.
Companion Animal Care Center offers hydrotherapy services! Hydrotherapy is a modality of care for rehabilitation and conditioning. The underwater treadmill uses the natural properties of water (buoyancy, resistance, heat on a treadmill) to create a low impact workout that increases muscle strength endurance, and 50-60% faster recovery time from surgery.
Our pet lodging is designed to take the fear out of boarding our dear furry family members. We want them to feel like they are at home while they are here, have a great experience and want to come back. Timber's Lodge is the dog lodging area of Companion Animal Care Center. Timber's Lodge was created out of a desire for Dr. Chaffin and Lela to have a comfortable place for their own dog, Timber, to stay when needed.
Companion Animal Care Center is a full service veterinary hospital and pet lodge (boarding) facility. We offer orthopedic and soft tissue surgical services, hospitalization with ICU capabilities, dental care, reproductive services, hydrotherapy (water treadmill), and unique pet lodging for cats and dogs.

They were not willing to sell me "over the counter" medication to help both of my kitties with worms. They would for the one I brought in and spent $40 for them to see she was breathing before a spayed surgery, why it wasn't all in one visit $hows you a truth. Now I'm just trying to help my sick rescued cats I never wanted and they only will help if I spend more money there? It's sad. Why would it matter when I can buy it over the counter? Unfortunately, there isn't any in this small town so I'll order it (far cheaper) Done with this place. Thank you for the compassion Companion, you really care

Been with Companion for about 20 years now. I have had nothing but great experience. They have been caring and understanding. They have been there when it was time to say our goodbyes and we will be continuing taking our fur babies there. Thank you Companion for all that you do and have continued to do.

TL;DR: FANTASTIC care! Wonderful people! 10/10 recommend !
Long Version: I’ve been coming to Dr Chaffin at Companion for almost 17 years with my cats (and occasionally a rat), and I can honestly say I’ve never had a vet that was so personable, smart, well-researched, up to date, and genuinely caring.
Dr Chaffin helped me with an insulin-dependent cat who lived to be over 18 after being diabetic for 12 years. During that time, he (my cat, not Dr Chaffin) needed multiple changes in type and dosage of insulin, and his other medical care was more complex because of his diabetes. It says a lot

I have been going here for almost 20 years and will always trust them with my fur babies. Everyone is amazing and so kind that you feel like family when you are there.

Due to a family emergency, I needed my dog boarded overnight. I came in without calling ahead (although I probably should have) and they were able and willing to accommodate me. I was a week or two overdue for a few things like flea treatment and parasite test and they made it work by having my dog spend the first night in "isolation" until flea preventative was applied and parasite results came back negative. I'm incredibly appreciative of their help and care for me and my pup.

I have had multiple family members use this facility for their dogs. One used them for years, the other only about the past year and then the last family member just once. All who have stopped going due to the reaction of the same receptionist they had spoken with over the phone. When asking questions she is very short and rude to responding with their questions and rudely asking "well aren't you going to pay". They have always paid up front, but no need to ask rudely and speaking to them rude prior. We care about how our animals are treated but the owners can be treated with respect also. I understand

I have been taking my cats and dog to this vet for two years now and have always received the best care. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and seem to care greatly about my animals. They are often able to fit in appointments same day or very last minute which helps put my mind at ease that my animals are getting timely care. I would definitely recommend this vet to a friend!

My dog loves the attention and care she gets here. They are very attentive to her needs and help us get through a very rough beginning.
Morgan wags her tail and gets excited any time we get close to them.
