Very dusty dirty. The staff needs to know that they are in the hospitality business so need to be hospitable. The hostess for the restaurant needs some classes in that area. We know it's an older building-it does need more outlets. And somebody could have told us when we called that most sores and restaurants are closed.

Their complimentary breakfast was granola bars (and only one kind); there’s a train not too far away, but thankfully the hotel has old windows that aren’t soundproof at all so you train lovers can hear the train honk each hour as though it were right outside your window; the mattresses were old and lumpy, so if you like a sore back in the morning this is a great place to stay; the carpet was dusty as hell; the bathroom was small with no lock on the door and a dirty bathtub; if you’re planning to sleep on the sofa bed, it’s straight springs. The only way you’ll enjoy this hotel is if you

The lobby makes a statement of grandeur . The Christmas tree was up too! The rooms were clean and well stocked. The breakfast is grab and go. The rumor of ghosts could not be "confirmed nor denied". I kind of wanted a good ghost story but no cigar. Also, I wasn't spooked at all, I slept like a baby.

Good central location for the mural tour and restaurants. however, it's time for the holland to freshen up a bit as it appears to be awhile since it was remodeled. the interior is very dark and the was no breakfast available. don't try to talk to the manager about a credit because you will not get a chance to speak as her way of dealing with customers is to continuously interrupt or talk over you.

Train goes right past your bedroom honking the horn every 2 hours. Coffee in the lobby starting at 8am. No frills, no customer service expensive. Went down to the Hampton Inn for some sleep.

Very Uncomfortable stay. I was a little nervous while booking about the potential of railroad noise - i should have listened to my inner voice. A train whistled every 2 hours and you can hear it clearly, yes... even during the night. The building is old and that's part of the charm, but lack good insulation as we can hear all conversations across the hallway. the place is ran by young people, probably college students - nothing wrong about that, just seriousness and typical politeness is not to be expected. Worst part comes early in the morning. The fire alarm went off! Loud and obnoxious... False

We stayed in room 208 with the balcony for our 35th anniversary....Would like to thank John for his assistance and for upgrading us upon arrival. The room was nice and being able to sit on the balcony was an added treat. We would stay there again!

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at The Holland. It’s a very nice hotel with great history and plenty of charm. We stayed in the Crow’s Nest room and it was great! The room has a small window balcony, but the big attraction is the covered patio with a phenomenal view of downtown Alpine! COVID protocols are still in place as of late Apr 2021, so some amenities such as breakfast are still shut down, but in the evenings the restaurant with bar in the lobby is open. Overall, I love to stay at The Holland next time we’re in Alpine.
