Javelinas & Hollyhocks
The Hotel Limpia, an historic, restored hotel built in 1912, is located in mile-high Fort Davis, nestled in the scenic Davis Mountains of southwest Texas. We currently have 30 rooms and suites. Please note: The Hotel Limpia is a historic building and, as such, we do not have an elevator and not all areas of the building are accessible under the ADA.

Please ask for specifics when reserving your room. We allow pets in some rooms and suites. We do charge a pet fee but 100% of the proceeds go to Grand Companions, a state of the art shelter located in Fort Davis. Our accommodations are fully restored with private baths, period furnishings and free Wi-Fi.
Services
Hotel Limpia is conveniently located just off Hwy 118 in Fort Davis Texas. Our historic hotel includes a gift shop (Javelinas & Hollyhocks) and dining at the Blue Mountain Bar & Grill - fine bistro dining with a West Texas flair! Enjoy the atmosphere of this quaint town or go hiking along the Davis Mountains.
The Hotel Limpia and Blue Mountain Bar and Grill offer the perfect setting for your special occasion, corporate event or meeting. Our property offers multiple venues ranging from a more formal ballroom in the historic main building to an outdoor setting on our beautiful patio. Our chefs at the Blue Mountain Bar and Grill will tempt your guests with one-of-a-kind custom menus.
Hotel Limpia offers accommodations in three different buildings, all with their own personality, pricing and amenities. They all offer the same West Texas flair and incredible views, as well as the relaxing "get-away" atmosphere that makes this area so popular for vacationers. Great for families, these circa 1920 suites have more space to spread out and enjoy your stay.
Built in 1912 with locally quarried stone, guests in our historic main hotel building enjoy Victorian-style decor and architecture with rounded walls upstairs, 10-foot ceilings with ornamental pressed tin, porches with rockers, a glassed-in veranda, and a library with a fireplace. Truly a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere in which to unwind.
Nestled among towering Pines, Live Oaks and fruit trees at the foot of the Davis Mountains in Ft Davis, TX our circa 1920s Orchard Suites provide guests with antique and reproduction craftsman furniture, original tin ceilings, and antique clawfoot tubs.

Suites with efficiency kitchens provide a "home away from home" feel, as do the rockers on the front porch, where guests can often be spotted reading a book, drinking a glass of wine, bird watching, or simply enjoying the peaceful environment.

I love me a funky old hotel. They are gems that should be cherished and enjoyed. This one was a bit of a bi-polar experience. Some of it I loved, some of it I hated.

What I loved: Great charm. Very clean. Interesting rooms with nooks and crannies. Games in some of the rooms. Relaxing balconies (upstairs/downstairs, front/back). Excellent staff with every interaction. Wonderful to sign the old time ledger to record your visit. Cool old keys on brass rings. Beautiful accommodations with antique like accomodations.

What I hated: Any time anyone was on the balcony outside our room it felt like they

I came back across this hotel looking for a place to stay and noticed my previous review was gone. I was going to ignore it until I saw the management's reply to another negative review on Yelp saying it was the 1st "they'd ever heard" about people not liking a cat wondering around a hotel. I know this is a flat out lie. I am allergic to cats. I had horrible asthma as a result of staying here but the worst part is that the entire place smelled of strong cat urine. We arrived late (like after midnight, arranged ahead of time) and the hotel left us a room key...for a family of

Don't let the outside fool you. Go in and see the inside of this gorgeous historic hotel. We had a surprisingly great stay in February 2021. We stayed in a suite that was almost like an apartment, with a sitting room, separate sleeping rooms, a kitchen and dining area. The best part was that it was historic with beautiful vintage furniture and decor. My son didn't want to leave. The front desk manager was really nice and helpful. I liked that we were separated by huge plastic barriers at the front desk, so I felt more safe covid-wise. We enjoyed takeout from the Blue Mountain restaurant

We stayed in another building associated with the main hotel - Casa Limpia,I think. The room was clean, but quite small and there was no view at all. Our only windows looked out to the building next door which you might have been able to touch if you stuck your hand out the window. Also,if you like or need to move around in the shower a bit, this is not the place for you. We would probably not choose to stay here again.

We came to Fort Davis for a mini vacation to get away from all of the city madness. My boyfriend and his family has always stayed at Hotel Limpia, so we decided to continue the tradition of doing so! We showed up and got checked in very easily with Chloe at the front desk. Our room was around the corner in it's own space. The only downside is that it is literally right next to the men's bathroom (picture will be attached). Otherwise we really enjoyed the room! We went in and they had a welcoming paper with restaurants around and times/days they are open and what they serve...GREAT TOUCH

My husband booked this hotel specifically because it looked idyllic, had a top rated restaurant on the grounds and a refreshing pool for his 8 months pregnant wife as a reward after a full day of driving. We arrived on a hot July day and were looking forward to jumping in the pool, only to learn when we checked in that the pool was closed for a private event. Would have been nice if they would have let us know via reservation email about this or comped us something. The young lady at the front desk was not much help and didn't give any sort of direction as to where the rooms were located

Yes, West Texas, and the Davis Mountains in particular, is spectacularly beautiful and worth the long journey. But the Hotel Limpia makes a visit to Ft. Davis truly special. I have stayed in hotels all over the world, and this one continues to be one of my favorites. It is a historic building on the quaint Main Street, and retains its Victorian charm with antique furniture, many original fixtures, and period decor. But it has also been carefully updated to suit modern needs. It is clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and high quality linens and toiletries. The service is excellent as

We stayed for one night after arriving late. The front desk closes at 9:30pm, so the key was in an envelope at the front desk. We enjoyed decompressing in the library by the fire with a couple glasses of cold water from the water jug in the lobby. The upstairs room in the main building was very spacious and decorated in a manner appropriate to the age of the hotel. The room appeared to be recently decorated and was nicely appointed. The beds were nice with a good, sufficiently firm, mattress. The room was clean and the bathroom has nice toiletries. The only downside in the room was the water

On a whim, we ended up in Ft Davis. We looked on Expedia for a hotel. No vacancy. We stopped in at Hotel Limpia and the front desk clerk got us an awesome room in the Orchard House. Historic, beautiful, comfortable and a great value! The Blue Mountain Bistro next door got us reservations and the meal was amazing! We will be going back!

Overall it's a very good hotel. Nostalgic by nature, of course, but that comes with limitations. (amenities) The only really bad complaint, is the showers. A shower in an old claw based tub? doesn't work out very well. Water ends up all over the floor. Might work better if they had stronger shower curtains. Hotel personnel were very helpful.

So this one comes with a story. This was the same road trip you saw me talking about already several times and we asked for a ground floor place, when we got there we got a room upstairs and they don't have an elevator. We needed a ground floor for several reasons. So after talking to the front desk we got a room at a different building and it was awesome. Next time this is what we will book. It was a large hallway, a full kitchen with table and a huge bedroom with a beautiful bathroom. It might be old but this is what gives it the charm we were looking for. So yes this is a place we will

Quaint and super cute hotel. It's split up into three buildings, we stayed in the one right across the street from the main building and above the gift store. They recently remodeled the rooms so they're pretty nice. Check-in was a breeze! We called to tell them we'd be late (past 10pm) and they just said they'd put everything in an envelope for us and have it ready (they gave us specific instructions for when we arrived since no one would be there to check us in). No issues!! All in all, we'd definitely stay there again! Plus, Fort Davis is a neat little town!!

We loved our second floor room which was private, large, and impeccably clean. The bathroom, particularly, was charming. Sitting on the porch alone was worth the price of admission.

Here's the thing: all BnB's and historic hotels are, IMHO, a bit of a head trip. I mean, if you wanted elevators, a state of the art thermostat, and a brand-new lobby (sans cat and sans courthouse bells), you'd stay at the Hampton, right? West Texas requires a bit of effort: it isn't within a day's drive of anything familiar, easy, or homogenized. Its charms and its drawbacks are one and

I recently stayed at the Hotel Limpia for a business trip (June 9-11).

I loved my stay at the hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and courteous. I stayed in a suite that was not located in the main building of the hotel. The suite was fabulous! The room featured a king sized antique canopy bed, a sitting area with a tv, tv in the bedroom, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker (with coffee and coffee extras), a dinette table, and a clawfoot tub in the bathroom. The bathroom had plenty of guest towels, hairdryer, soaps and extra toilet paper.

The room was clean and lovely. I enjoyed

This review is based solely on the tour that proprietors, Anajo & Peggy, gave us of the gorgeous hotel.

We were headed to Marfa out of Ft. Davis & just HAD to stop & take a look / tour of the Beautiful Limpia Hotel! A wonderful cool breeze was blowing through the lobby as we were greeted by two ladies, Anajo & Peggy, at the front desk We told them we were passing through & would love to take a tour of the beautiful hotel. They were glad to show us around & describe each & every room...from the Majestic Ballroom to the glassed-in wrap-around Sun Room/Veranda. The

We loved this hotel - very charming and convenient to everything in downtown Ft Davis. This place had true Southern charm and hospitality. Loved the porches on each floor - great for watching the sun set over the town square.

The only drawback was having to lug our suitcases up a narrow staircase, but that's to be expected in this type of place. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone staying in the area.

*We also ate at the attached restaurant - food was OK, nothing spectacular.

DISCLAIMER: We stayed at The Limpia West, not in the original historic hotel itself.

The Good:
:: the employees are super friendly. when we checked into our room, we discovered our room had a non-working window unit so we got moved into another room. the guy felt really bad and discounted our stay a little bit to make up for the hassle of us having to move our stuff to a different room.
:: located on the main street of Ft Davis. you can walk to stuff around the area easily.
:: has a covered patio that extends around the hotel and they have board games set up on tables
