Not very good. This used to be my wife's favorite sub shop but it may have changed ownership. The new owners were nice and had reasonably quick service, but the food was disappointing. My caprese sandwich (pictured) had some sort of pesto that didn't taste at all like basil, and the overall sandwich was entirely flavorless. My daughter complained that the bacon on her sandwich didn't taste like anything, and we verified this. It's hard to screw up bacon!

Just moved from the south and holy cow, they don’t make subs like this down there. Delicious food, kind people, and legitimately good gluten free bread which is not easy to come by.

Sandwiches are good when they get the order right. Somehow what you say over the phone does not translate and they miss toppings. It's happened too many time for me so have to move on.

Got a chicken Caesar wrap today. Smallest wrap I’ve ever seen. Look elsewhere if you want something to fill you up. Good subs here tho!

Great choices, fresh ingredients, but not always consistent. I've opened up sandwiches that have very little meat, and sometimes I can't get my mouth around the bread it's so stuffed.

I bought a gluten free sandwich today and was quite skeptical when I saw them put the bread in the microwave. They said they have to keep the gluten free bread in the freezer and defrost it one by one to keep it fresh and I assumed it would be soggy and almost passed it by. I am so happy I didn't. I did ask them to wrap the ingredients separate from the roll so that I could let the roll cool down first, which they were happy to do. Then I got home and compiled the sandwich with my 18 year old daughter sitting across the table. She said the roll did NOT look gluten free and asked for a taste, which

Have gotten subs here for my family. Everything always tastes good. You can do takeout (and even call ahead).
Lately we've been having our subs delivered due to the current situation.

Food: I've only ever gotten take away from here. I've gotten a chicken cordon bleu sandwich and a steak and cheese sandwich.

The chicken cordon blue was dry and lacking. It was small chicken strips with barely any cheese. I definitely won't get that again.

However the steak sandwich was pretty good. I ordered it with onions, mushrooms, and cheese. The onions were under done but other than that the sandwich was tasty. The steak was cooked well and it had a good balance of cheese.

The best spot in town! No doubt about it. The steak tip sub is outta this world!

Ordered for a group and one person had an allergy to wheat. They had delicious gluten free sub rolls (from what she said best she has ever had). This is my favorite spot in Arlington!

For a long time, this was our favorite sandwich shop. The first killer: our favorite custom sandwich was scrapped from the menu. Eggplant cutlet (breaded eggplant) was removed; The only eggplant they have now is pre-soaking in the tomato sauce (can you say soggy & gross?)

The worst part, when we ordered an eggplant cutlet sandwich, and then complained about the sauce, Anthony himself called to angrily explain how "eggplant cutlet" is no longer and option, and that a refund would not be provided.

Seriously dude, we've been coming to you for years, and this is how you're

The best haircut I have ever had. Anthony cut my hair and expained to another barber, Ed, how it was I wanted it. I have never received a better care for my hair!

Love sandwiches? This is the place for you.

I needed a quick but filling lunch. Anthony's nailed it. I had a "Spy Ponder," basically a caprese salad on a roll, with prosciutto... and it was delicious.

I watched as they made the sandwich fresh, and I had it in no time. Service was incredibly friendly and the price was right for a sandwich this good.

They serve the best subs in town. They have the best ham/ cold cuts and the owner (Tony) is always nice and happy to see us! They have a bit of everything: subs, pizza, ham, cheese, snacks and drinks. It's just a great place with great employees and good food!

Best Italian subs in New England! Get it with everything. The gluten free subs truly are Celiac safe, also. Top it off with Coke in a glass bottle. So good!

Anthony's catered a church function for us last night. The food was EXCELLENT! Chicken/broccoli/ziti, meat lasagna, stuffed shells, and meatballs. Food arrived hot and on time. Everyone devoured it!! This will be one of my go-to places from now on. Thank you, Anthony's!

My son an I have both been going to Anthony's Barber Shop in East Arlington for over a decade now and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Tina & Anthony both give a great cut at a very reasonable price and treat all of the customers like family. There can be a long wait especially on Saturdays due to the number of regular customers but its worth the wait and the lively conversation passes the time quickly.

ANTHONY gets its right. Quality and even handmade food is served night after night. They are perfect for lunch and dinner but they close an hour earlier than I get hungry:) I've hired Tony and his lasagna, breads and breakfasts for a weekend retreat I ran in NH. We got top quality yummy food for a fraction of what a caterer would charge.

When I am really hungry, I come here. They welcome you and make you feel important and good inside.

Favorites are their Turkey, stuffing, cranberry The Delicious. It is. Thanks for being at the corner!

My favorite sandwich here is the honey ham and the BLT cutlet (absolutely delish). The Italian sub, however, is no where near a real Italian sub and they should consider changing the name of it for this very reason.

I stopped going here because the owner would always greet me inappropriately.

Anyone who gives this place less than 4 stars has probably had a lobotomy or needs one. They slice the meats for each sandwich right in front of you, it doesnt get much fresher than that. I would fight a grizzly for the chocolate chip cookies

Hi there,
This was my first time at the deli. I was in town and wanted to try it out since there was a big sign that read gluten free. The young guy who worked there was very helpful and friendly, but I noticed that the owner Anthony did not evern introduce himself or say hi. Perhaps he only speaks to his regular customers. I still enjoyed the overpriced lunch with my dad. I would suggest say hi to everyone!!!

Get anything here. I miss this place. Antony would make me a steak primo, at 8:30am! Even on Sunday morning! Where around Boston can you get a piping hot, mouth-watering, east coast steak and cheese, on Sunday at 8am?Steak,Peppers,onions, pepperoni and American cheese with light mayo and a little bit of mustard. just great food and classic feel. I send all my friends who love "the art of a great sandwich." Go now!

In my opinion, this is currently the best italian sandwich place (hot or cold) in Cambridge/Arlington, and I'm pretty sure I've tried just about all of them. Their prosciutto is excellent - a medium strong, slightly sweet, medium salty variety that Anthony personally selected - and their red sauce ranks up there. I've visited at least twice a week since I discovered the place 6 months ago.

My picks---

Cold
-Sicilian
-Spicy Italian

Hot
-The Herbert (chicken AND eggplant parm with their excellent prosciutto). The extra bit of salty complexity it adds takes an excellent sandwich

This deli is amazing. Being just down the street from Gluten-Free bakery Something Sweet Without Wheat means they can make your sandwich on a Gluten-Free bread. They are trained to avoid cross-contamination with a dedicated cutting board and change gloves before making the sandwich. My girlfriend -who has coeliacs- and I go there often and she has never been sick.
The staff is also very kind and always greet you with a smile.

Yeah! These guys are great!.
They take the gluten free bread from somethings sweet without wheat and load it up in yummy subs/grinders.
They seem to be very careful about food allergies and make great sandwiches.

This place is the real deal. Best steak and cheese in Eastie. Also best meatballs (house made) but get there early before they run out. Boars head cold cuts mean an excellent Italian sandwich as well.

The owner, Anthony is in the shop most days and is a great guy. He's very friendly and participates in the community. On weekends, or if I'm working from home Anthony's is one of my top picks.
