He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Carolina in 1994.
He then received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1999. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health, the Academy of General Dentistry, the South Carolina Dental Association and The Greater Columbia Dental Society.

I love Dr Newsome and his staff. I've been going for over 10 years now and have never had a bad experience. They are all very sweet and care about you and your family. Jennifer cleaned my teeth and she knew I had anxiety. She took her time with me. Couldn't ask for anyone any more gentle and sweet spirited. Go see them !!

Had a new patient appointment this morning but for some reason my alarm didn’t go off! I received a call from Stephanie at the office to inquire about my scheduled visit, I apologized to her and she said no problem, that I could come in & see what they could do to squeeze me in. I arrived & only sat down for about 2mins, Andi (sp) called me back & was able to complete xrays, a thorough dental exam & cleaning. Dr Newsome came in and was soo very pleasant, did his exam and came up with a treatment plan. I truly appreciate them & glad I was able to get in.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Newsome and his team. Jennifer is so patient, kind, and understanding. Irene is always helpful in scheduling and rescheduling appointments and in helping with insurance questions. Sonya is always very comforting when I get any work done. They really are a great team with excellent bed side manner and it helps to easy my severe dental anxiety.

Everyone in the office is amazing and Dr. Newsome takes the time to really understand any problems you might be having. I had terrible headaches and jaw pain from clenching in my sleep and I was able to get an occlusal guard thanks to Dr. Newsome’s recommendation. It’s been a lifesaver and I feel so much better! Definitely recommend!

I called 15 different offices listed in my Insurance’s website, 12 who didn’t actually take my insurance, and Newsome was the only one where the people were kind on the phone and didn’t act like I was a pain to be asking for an appointment. I had to have some fillings redone a couple of weeks ago and they said they’d check on me the next day. I fully expected an admin or a hygienist to call but it was Doc himself! I really appreciate how much they care for patients as people and not just their bottom line. Best dental office I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a few :) The whole office

If you ask a question aboutwork to be done prior to scheduling, then you are told to find another dentist (that's what happened to me). All because he wanted me to schedule for an appointment and all I did was ask what all the appointment entailed in order to fix the problem 🤷♀️. Every dentist… I've ever had normally loves to explain the work that's going to be done. I've never scheduled an appointment and didn't know what it was for.
And he's had to fix his own work in less than a year if the first time doing

BEST dental experience of my life. From the ladies at the desk, to the hygienist and assistant, to Dr. Himself- all are friendly, kind, and professional. I felt at ease as soon as I arrived for my first visit. The ladies really made me feel relaxed and welcome. I then returned for 3 filings and had the laser experience which was so neat! No… needles! Our entire family will now use this practice. I can’t rave enough about it. Oh! And LOVE the texting you can do with the office for scheduling etc. Super slick. And to top it off, I got a thank you note today in the mail from the dentist

I was extremely happy with the warmth of his staff and that they all made me feel comfortable (I am a baby when it comes to going to the dentist). I felt relaxed and knew I was in good hands. Dr. Newsome & his staff are basically magicians. Everything they do is top notch. I've been to some ridiculous dentists and I rarely do Google reviews, but I can't say enough how much they care about the service, detail and making sure you are pain free and happy with the results. The laser they use to fill cavities is mind-blowing, causes literally no pain whatsoever and allows you to eat directly after. No shots, no numbness, no pain at all. Would recommend to anyone.

My fiancé visited Dr Newsome's office and came back with rave reviews! He had several cavities and Dr Newsome took the time to explain ways to prevent similar cavities in the future (proper flossing, which toothpaste brands to use). A few days later he received a personal note from Dr Newsome himself welcoming him to the office! Such a nice touch and greatly appreciated!!
