Ordered the fried calamari to go. As you can see on the website photos posted for the restaurant by a customer it is very different from what I received. First off upon entering the restaurant I did see that someone ordered the calamari- which looked exactly like the posted photo on the website. On my drive home the smell was overbearing. I literally got nauseous the smell of fish was really aggressive. I arrived home which is a 5 minute drive. I opened the bag to find the soggy smelly calamari that I’ve posted. I tossed it as it was not as pictured and looked and smelled unappetizing. I’m

First time here! Everything was great . Food was really good . Mario and the rest of the staff where really nice and friendly. The Italian music was a nice touch. I can’t wait to come back with a bunch of friends/family/ customers. Ambiance and decor is very Italian. Bring your own wine was the best. I highly recommend this authentic restaurant. I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoyed.

Decided to give this place a try as every time I happen to pass the restaurant, it was always bustling.
They have a good selection of Italian dishes, but we opted for the risotto. It was very good, but we all felt like the rice was slightly under cooked.
I would like to go back to try a different dish.

Excellent food no matter what you order, the risotto is always delicious. Mario and his staff are hard workers and are very pleasant, this is our go to place most of the time. Lots of fresh food, served hot, and very reasonably priced. Their prices didn't go up (during covid and now) like other places have gone up astronomically. Thank you to Mario & staff for all your hard work, we greatly appreciate you all @ The Risotto House!

Had a wonderful experience! I ordered the calamari fritti as an appetizer: it was not too breaded and not overcooked, it was just right. For my main I ordered the risotto with asparagus and saffron. It came al dente like I asked, in a nice abundant portion, fit for 3 people! The rice was cooked well and the dish was very flavorful, not too much saffron. A small detail was that not all of the asparagus was chopped the same, leaving small pieces mixed with big pieces. But this is forgivable. I also tasted the vongole origanate of my companion, also cooked well, not too much bread.

I usually eat at the one in Rutherford, so I figured I would give this one a try. This one is a little smaller but just as good.
Service was phenomenal. Our waiter was very nice (Mario) I think.
We started with an eggplant appetizer which was delicious. Stuffed mushrooms with spinach and ricotta were gone as soon as they hit the table!! ( I ate 3)...
Mussels in red sauce were very good also.
Dinners were just as delicious.
I ordered the veal parmigiana which melted In your mouth. I was actually very surprised how soft and delicious it was.
The chicken rollatini was good. Seafood

Just celebrated my mom’s birthday with a couple trays of food from The Risotto House. Everything was steaming and ready for our pick up time. The food was UNBELIEVABLY delicious and packed to perfection. They included steaming hot bread, butter packets in a container, a container of Parmesan cheese, etc. They literally had it all. If you haven’t tried their balsamic chicken and their stuffed portobello mushrooms, then you need to! Always great service and friendly employees.

I have been there several times with my family, friends and for a few special occasions. I finally took the time to write a long overdue review. I have tried several of their appetizers: calamari, stuffed clams, jumbo shrimp etc. as well as the osso bucco, veal and chicken parm as my main meals. From the friendly service to the excellent quantity of their food they deserve the 5 stars. They have also done a great job with their outdoor dining, making the best of their space available in dealing with the limitations of covid.

...I just wanted to take the time to write a review. We eat here from time to time and we have been ordering frequently the last couple weeks. My car is being serviced and I had no option but to use Uber Eats last night, and it's hard to make menu specifications and requests via their app. Admittedly, my order was difficult as I pretty much created my own dinner dish. My son is only ten years old and i appreciate how helpful and willing to accommodate you were. I want to personally THANK YOU bc my order was prepared, packed and delivered to PERFECTION. The food is top notch, the gravy

We celebrated my daughter's Confirmation here yesterday. We had the prix-fixe menu. We had the Risotto Primavera, Green Salad and our Entree choices and dessert. Everything was delicious, we were really impressed. What I appreciated most was my mother in on a restricted diet and in every course they made a special meal just for her that followed her diet. They were very easy to deal with and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Awful is not even close to what this place deserves! I usually don't write reviews but the Risotto House in Hasbrouck Heights needs to get their act together! We just left what was one of the worst dinning experiences of my life. The staff is rude, to say the least. We were there to celebrate my grandsons confirmation. They really are not capable of taking care of a large party and also being open to other guests. I'm not even sure who our wait staff was because no one introduced themselves and no one was consistent. One waitress did not speak English and was visibly annoyed with us.

This was my first experience at this restaurant. I had eaten at the Risotto house in Rutherford a few years ago. I did enjoy the dining experience. The restaurant wasn't full, so I was able to have a pleasant conversation with the person I was dining with. We shared a mushroom risotto as an appetizer. The bowl was full with large mushrooms and risotto. It was very tasty and the risotto was cooked well. For dinner I had the appetizer seafood salad! This was very fresh and plentiful. I couldn't believe this was an appetizer size... there must have been 12-15 mussels, squid, scallops and

So disappointed. I booked a table MONTHS ago for Sunday, May 19th at 2pm for my daughter's communion. I called back last month to confirm the reservation and ask questions about the menu. The man told me I could pick from their party menu choices and to call back a week before the date to confirm the number of people and tell them my menu choice. He told me I could bring the wine the day before. This sounded great. I called back on Saturday as I was instructed to do. A different man answered and first told me I couldn't pick from the party menu because it was Sunday then told me I could

This place is fantastic! It's quite a small restaurant and I'm not sure how it gets during dinner hours, but I'm sure any wait at all would be worth it. Also, keep in mind there is no parking lot (all street parking), and you have up to 2 hours to park on the Boulevard.
Our waiters were kind and attentive. Everything we ate here was spot on. Bread is crispy and crunchy. The risotto con formaggio was so cheesy and creamy, very heavenly. The penne vodka was so well done. I wanted to lick the vodka sauce right off the plate! Salads were excellent. I couldn't believe how sweet

Attended bridal shower mid afternoon on a Sunday. Small seating area but large enough for a small shower. The risotto itself was great, however the ceaser salad was not good at all. I know that cesear dressing usually contains anchovies but the taste was extremely overbearing. The entree was a chicken dish and it was just okay. Nothing too great. Would consider coming back during regular restaurant hours and try something different. The servers were average and accommodating to the host. It was a BYOB which was a great plus.

We've been dining here for years and continue to enjoy its fine cuisine. Last night was no exception, but this memory lingers:
I had chicken parmigiana. And the chicken felt wet in my mouth. No, not saucy. It was damp. I could cut it with a fork. It wasn't a patty. But...is there now a water added chicken breast cutlet like there is with deli meats?? As i eat the leftovers today I'm having the same experience: this chicken is WET.
I've been eating here (and its same-named sister in Rutherford) for over 20 years, and I've never had this experience.
Has anyone else

First time dining here and won't be my last. Veal Martino was delicious, served with roasted potatoes and a zucchini/carrot medley. The vegetables were a little over cooked, but the veal was the star. Lamb shank looked delicious! All six of us were very happy with our dinners - and we saved room for dessert! Chocolate mousse cake was fresh and yummy!! Service was attentive and friendly!

I just love this place!! Had a shower here with 80 people. I have no clue how they did it so well and so reasonably! Everything came out terrific. They worked with us on the menu and the staff was totally wonderful. We came back last night with a dinner party of 20 and it was incredible again! We usually go for dinner and the food is always great! The calamari is tender, the mushroom risotto and shrimp tomato garlic risotto is great too but my favorite is the homemade manicotti with vodka sauce. Amazing!!!!! And it's BYO. Their homemade tiramisu is the best I've had.

The food here was amazing. We were nervous at first because we didn't know how big the plates would be. We got an order of rice balls that was 7.95... they were great. I got the risotto con formaggio and it was $13.95. It was loaded with cheese. So much that when you lifted the fork the mozzarella was stringing. Just how I like it! I asked if they could add shrimp and they added 6 nice sized shrimp for $4.00. Which is not bad AT ALL! My husband got the fettuccini Casaligna which I believe was $13.95... it was loaded with chicken, prosciutto and peas. The plate sizes were nice and big. I

I have been to the Rutherford location and now there is one in Hasbrouck Heights adding to its main Boulevard. Risotto House is not the best option for an overly fancy Italian dining experience. The dining room is a bit small and plain, but the food is the real reason to go. The meal starts off with free bread and olives. I ordered a salad for $7 and I received a decent portion. My sister ordered one of the "specials" appetizers, the burrata. If they have the burrata when you are there you should definitely order it. I tasted it and it was better than burrata I've had at more expensive
