I am originally from Texas but have called Santa Fe, NM home since 2002. I have a degree in Culinary Arts, which afforded me opportunities as a pastry chef to live inArizona, Mexico, and eventually Santa Fe. Ekemba is awesome. My wife and I are professional classical musicians who work year round in symphony orchestras. We have been training on our instruments for 4 - 6 hours a day for over 30 years, and the wear on our bodies is considerable. Ekemba met us with compassion and an understanding of what we needed to strengthen and align our bodies. I began working with Ekemba because after 15+ years of practicing and teaching yoga, I kept injuring my body - both on and off the mat. I had stopped moving for fear of injury and pain. I was looking for a practice that would build strength in my core, stabilize my sacrum, reduce neck and shoulder pain, and allow me to feel strong and flexible in my body.

I have always been an active person but after suffering several years of illness and injury, my body needed help. Last year I decided it was time to look for a program that could help me regain some of the function I had lost. I'm very grateful I found SolCore! I am a professional athlete and I needed a cross training program that I could do on the road while traveling to compete. I also needed an exercise program that was low impact because I have some injuries that I'm always nursing along. SolCore Fitness has not only made me stronger and more healthy, but they also have worked with me and my crazy travel schedule. I was looking for some help correcting the way I move to resolve some asymetry I've noticed in my body. I also realized I hunch my shoulders. After 8 months, my posture is better and I'm noticing improvement in my feet. Ekemba and Jo are good teachers- pushing with patience and they have good senses of humor. Totally fascinated by the principle of making space in your spine that drives the exercises and stretching we do. Glad to have found them!

I am pleased to recommend SolCore Fitness and thank Jo (one of the trainers) for excellent help. I have lived with lower back pain for years. At 72 years old, I had fusion surgery of the L-5 plus physical therapy but knew I needed a special exercise program for the rest of my life. Coming up to a full year of completing group training and, cliche but true, the program has changed my life. No more back problems, feeling stronger, losing weight, toning up...great sessions and I look forward to them each time--even when some become difficult to master. The personal trainers at SolCore fitness work the whole body. They have the best focus on chronic pain issues, especially back pain. I was sitting in a meeting. It was about an hour and a half long. Half way through I noticed I was the only person sitting up straight and I was perfectly relaxed. There have been other changes, some more significant than others. I guess the biggest one is my recovery from meniscus surgery. I can get out of my car and climb stairs without pain. My abs and core feel strong and my remember to relax tension in my body throughout the day. I know my muscles have been retrained
