Lyerly Fitness offers private fitness training, group fitness training, exercise boot camps, nutritional advice and customized personal training programs for clients in and around Columbia, South Carolina. Owner TJ Lyerly is a certified personal trainer with over 15 years of experience helping people reach their fitness goals.

Every one of TJ's personalized training programs take into account the different factors that affect your weight and health: genetics, body type, eating habits and lifestyle. By adjusting these factors, you can achieve the results you've been looking for. Lyerly Fitness is conveniently located at 3014 Devine Street, Columbia, SC, close to Shandon, Forest Acres, USC and downtown Columbia.

I am a native to Columbia, South Carolina who has enjoyed the benefits of organized physical fitness for most of my life. I was introduced to my first training program as a teenager at the Columbia Athletic Club over 20 years ago. I was certified as a trainer 15 years ago, and most recently was certified with the American College of Sports Medicine.
At Lyerly Fitness, we offer a range of services and workout styles to help you attain your wellness goals. Being a smaller gym means we tailor our clients' fitness plans and schedules to their needs and level. There's no need to feel intimidated - taking the first step towards making a life change is the hardest, but we promise you'll enjoy the journey from this point forward.
Boot camps are a great way to get in shape and stay in shape while enjoying the outdoors and exercising with other people. Columbia, SC is blessed with beautiful outdoor spaces, parks and pretty great weather for most of the year. Get fit while having fun with a boot camp by Lyerly Fitness!

Boot camp workouts consist of several different workout stations, where each person rotates from one station to the next, using a variety of equipment like jump ropes, kettle bells, balls and bands.Each station will take you through a different exercise to make sure you get a full body workout. Our boot camps take place on the weekend in downtown Columbia.
Any one of Columbia's city parks offer a great opportunity to train outside, especially as we move into fall or spring seasons, as we have some great weather. With little or no equipment, I can guide you through a variety of boot camp-style exercises using primarily your body weight and the park surroundings.

TJ Lyerly Fitness works. TJ keeps you moving from one integrated workout exercise to another movement in his private studio. He is careful to meet you where you are to achieve your workout goals (even me). His studio is in a great location - on Devine St. where it's easy to stop in for a workout. We often go for a quick walk around the Shandon neighborhood before the workout - just for a break after work. We have been pleased that he works well with couples, and we know several other friends who rely on TJ as their trainer too. This is why we 1st heard about and visited Lyerly Fitness. We have

I really wanted to get in shape for my upcoming wedding but I just wasn’t a gym person. My sister started training with TJ a few months ago and recommended I should give it a try. I’m in my 3rd month with TJ now and I never thought I’d enjoy working out but I really do! He really motivates you to work hard and coaches you on how to live a healthy lifestyle. His studio is great with lots of equipment and he does so many different exercises to work out every part of your body. If you’re looking for a personal trainer then TJ is great fit for anyone no matter what your workout level!

I've worked with several different trainers in Columbia and TJ is the best. He tailors the work outs to fit your fitness level. He's very knowledgeable and makes the works out fun. You never know what you might be doing -
sled work, ladder drills, strength work, etc. Give him a try.

I've been working out with TJ for just shy of three months but the results I'm seeing are incredible! TJ consistently challenges you with new workouts and can easily adapt them to any fitness level. He is quick to show you the proper form and always encourages you to keep going when you want to quit. TJ is the best! He challenges you to do the work, but is encouraging and kind. He can adapt the workouts to any fitness level, and always takes extra care if you have an injury or other concern you need to work though. I actually look forward to my workouts now, and I can tell how much stronger and in shape I've gotten since we started! His workouts are easy to follow and fun!
