Walked in and the smell from what we found out was a brewery right across from the hotel, stunk horribly. Just awful.
A member of the front desk staff was very rude, very unfriendly and cold. Not how you want to start your stay. Breakfast food was burnt to a crisp and cold and certainly not deluxe in anyway. And seemed no one was working in the hotel. Saw a staff member sitting in the lobby instead of working, left for an hour and they were still just sitting in the lobby. I don’t know one place that has an hour long break. Don’t they have a break room? Looks very unprofessional and lazy to

Some of the staff members need a shower. Walked by one and they stunk like BO. Their room cleaning skills are no better. Location is good, staff has attitudes and is unhelpful. Won’t be staying here again. Hotel is dirty and smelly. Got out as soon as possible. Don’t recommend staying here, especially during covid where NO staff members wear masks or are hygienic.

П‘ Very nice stay there over the weekend, spacious room near many attractions in Duluth. The only minor issue was traffic noise on the street under our window, old windows and building most likely the culprit. When we stay again , we will try an internal room away from the street. Price was excellent compared to rates at Canal Park hotels a few blocks away, and our room came with a full kitchen, I was quite impressed.

Covid breeding ground. EVERYTHING IS DISGUSTING. Everyone is rude. Maintenance never came to replace our flickering and burnt out light bulbs. And we were there for a WEEK. The front desk people have such an attitude, I’m amazed at their audacity. And from reading other comments, it seems we’re not the only ones searching for a response from the ever silent general manager!!! You have many many phone calls to return!!!!!!! Never been so disappointed, used to love going here. What a shame. Will not ever return.

I'm really sad to me writing this review. I have stayed here many times over the years and have recommended it to many people looking for a place to stay in Duluth. The last time I visited was in mid October. I had rented a two bedroom suite, celebrating my daughter's 20th birthday (postponed because of covid). We checked in on the afternoon and when we went to bed at 11pm the first night, my daughter noticed her sheets were very dirty and had not been changed. We called down to the front desk, she had to go down and get the new sheets and come back up and change the bed herself. Also it is advertised

Went there with daughter and 2 teenage grandkids, didn't gave chicken tenders, Mac & cheese should gave been listed as soup as it was so runny, I ordered brown sugar burger, no brown sugar taste, tomatoes were a poor excess (hard, white, not even close to being ripe/edible) and the burger was dry/crunchy/burnt. My daughter ordered a chicken wrap (which they had chicken for). I will close with, the Pepsi was flat. The only reason they are getting one star is because the fries were good.

We stayed in a wedding block room for 2 nights. we were told by the groom we would get a discount for 219 for both nights. as we checked in, the total was 565 dollars! I asked the check in guy who was INCREDIBLY RUDE very nicely as to why it was so high all he could tell me was because of taxes. so I apologized as we had to embarrassingly move… money around to pay for our two day staff. all the employee could do was give me a RUDE stare and made us felt like we were a problem. BTW, when I called to reserve the room. I never received a confirmation email so I had to email to get a confirmation

Room decor is a little dated and smells musty, but it's in a renovated old factory building which is cool. Comfortable room layouts with full-size refrigerators and cook tops. Indoor pool with a hot tub and hot hot sauna. Location is great, very walkable. Odd odor in the corridor to the lobby, fortunately not on the floor where our room was. Free parking in the lot across the street.

The Suites Hotel is an interesting property. You can't beat the location. It is a converted industrial building of some sort and they have done a decent job. We had a two-room suite/apartment that was very clean and comfortable. I'd recommend calling the hotel directly for reservations and trying to get a room numbered in the thousands. I believe these are condos in a connected building that have been converted to short term rentals. Make sure you confirm the room type when you reserve as there are some interior suites that have no windows.

I hate to write 1 star reviews because I really want to give places the benefit of the doubt. In this case, I get more frustrated as I think about my stay here. I suppose if you want to stay in a dirty, overpriced hotel then this is your place.
The Suites Hotel should be ashamed of calling itselves a 3-star hotel. Our room was obviously unclean and the level of noise in our room was unbearable, so we attempted to check out early. I have attempted to talk to call the hotel manager twice and have gotten no return calls, so it has been a very frustrating experience. For a hotel that costs close

My sister and niece stayed here one night in April 2020. We were on our way home from dropping my nephew off in North Dakota. I knew as soon as I walked in the door that it was haunted. I didn't get the impression that the spirits were unfriendly, but definitely felt their presence. My niece heard talking in the hall all night although I'm pretty sure we were the only guests in the hotel. I would stay here again. The hotel is lovely. We left early the next morning and went to see Lake Superior. In the photos of myself, I had orbs attached to me. Would like to know more of the history

We loved the charm and The Rustic beams in high ceilings in the suite that we were in with a little balcony and most importantly we could all be together as a small gathering with her granddaughter and fiance… and our great grand dog and many other dogs were welcomed throughout the hotel so the dog friendly part was a really key thing for us thank you for the pet friendly policy 😊👍🏼

Staying in 1312. There is a mechanical room next to the suite that is very loud. The bass from the thrum of the mechanicals is powerful enough to rattle the drop ceiling tiles. It feels like a train is continually passing by. There is no sleep to be had in the king bed of suite 1312. You might enjoy it. It's keeping me up. Other than that the room is great.

Do not let the website photos entice you to stay here. They claim there's a Timberlodge Steakhouse adjacent to the property, and from those who are from Minnesota, you know how that's comical.
It's evident that this hotel has seen better days, like those from the early 2000s (or earlier). The lobby with its several matching swatches of taupe with dark green carpeting says it all. Don't forget the white piano in the middle of it!
First room we checked into had black mold on the bathroom ceiling. Given we are in the times of COVID, you'd think they'd do a better job

This was an alright place to stay, considering we just needed a place to crash after bopping around Duluth most of the day/night.
I found it slightly overpriced for $135 for a window-less room on a weekday during the last week of September. Yes, windowless. The dark room and interior design made it feel like we were in the belly of ship, even considering the tall ceilings. I guess it made for a good night's sleep, but also hard to wake up. It was interesting that the room two doors, but one of them did not lock. Good thing I don't own anything of value!

Massive safety concerns. The parking ramp is under construction and there are holes in the upper level with exposed rusty rebar where someone could easily break an ankle or worse. It's not just a few pot holes. There are gaps between the 2nd and first level. I tried to talk to the front desk in regards to having construction tape or a cone being placed and was told ( that's not my responsibility). This truly showed a lack of concern of safety for their guests.
Next time our family will stay elsewhere.

This hotel was a last minute gem after booking another "waterfront" hotel only to find it was neither waterfront NOR a hotel (more akin to a 'no tell motel with sheets saved from a prison garage sale).
The Suites Hotel was not listed on any of the apps we normally use for reservations but came up in a search so we called and booked. $300 for a last minute reservation seemed a lot but $150 plus buying Lysol and new bedding/mattress bags and worrying about bedbugs was approximately the same cost so we booked it.
What a pleasant surprise! Right in the middle of Canal Park with easy

I love the condo style suites that they have. It is a great place to bring our dog for a few days. The staff is friendly and they had an excellent breakfast. There is nothing like taking a bath in the jacuzzi with the tv right in front of you. It is the perfect location from all the restaurants and bars in Canal Park as well. Overall, a great place to stay a few days and just relax.

Overall I liked it and will go back but still can only give 3 stars based on the cons.
Pros: front desk staff seemed professional and friendly, large spacious suite with kitchen, good location and close to lots of the activity in canal park, pretty quiet solid walls since historic building.
Cons: Could use some updates since room decor is at least 20 years old, bathroom had a few mold spots, elevator floors needed vacuming, sofa bed very uncomfortable with springs in back so they should get some new matresses. They do offer rollaway for a price though if you want to pay extra.

Location alone is almost worth 5 stars!! 2 blocks from Canal Park, so within walking distance to just about everything at a significant savings from staying those 2 precious blocks away. Easy to get to, plenty of free parking.
I had a studio queen suite, which is their cheapest room type, and it was huge. Very comfy bed with enough pillows to make a fort. It DID state during the reservation process I was getting an interior room sans windows, so not sure how others missed that. The kitchette was so handy.
The pool area is spotless. Only place I've ever seen someone checking water quality
