We are a family owned business born out of the desire to bring great Ethiopian cuisine to many markets of Seattle that currently rarely get access to it. Meeraf Sinton originally from Addis Abiba, Ethiopia is a long time Ethiopian cook who combines the cooking styles of a number of Ethiopian regions in her food.
Her husband Jonathan Sinton, originally from Dublin, Ireland worked previously in sales, and helped Meeraf launch Geni's Ethiopian to fulfill a long term desire of bringing Ethiopian food and culture to those who have never tried it before.

Absolutely delicious. We had their black history month special. The flavors were complex and well rounded. The blood orange salad was a nice cleansing respite between savory bites of doro wat. The injera was yummy. Potato and kale paired so well. Chicken doro wat fell off the bone - the sauce was incredible. Tiramisu was addictive.

This evening's dinner was freakin AMAZING. The Siga Be Gomen (stew?) was the most delicious stew I've had in forever! The meat was tender and unbelievably tasty, the greens vibrant and delicious. The potatoes… are simply to die for and I have to learn how to make them. The bread, of course, is so tasty and unique (my husband's favorite). The appetizer (little triangles like samosas,) and green hot sauce was fantastic. I'm letting things settle till I try the absolutely beautiful desert. You Nailed it tonight! My whole family is "fat and happy"! BTW, I did try the desert. It was fabulous

Geni's is a fantastic place to cater from. Delicious and unique cusine, superb quality and you feel how much love and care they put into making the food, delivering the food and presenting the food. Jonathan took the time to explain each dish to my guests and how to eat it. Highly recommend for your next party, event or office gathering.

I worked with Geni's Ethiopian last spring for a student event at the UW. The food was amazing, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The catering setup was beautiful, and they use good compostable ware (cool dry leaf plates!). Everyone raved about the food and it made the event really special.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Everything is so incredibly delicious and flavorful! I never eat enough veggies, but I could eat the Tekil Gomen and Curried Potatoes every day. On top of the food being amazing, Meeraf and Jonathan are wonderful- they obviously put a lot of care into their food and it definitely shows!
