Pediatric Dentistry works with patients ranging in age from birth to adolescence. Here at Marblehead Smiles we emphasize the guidance of growth and dental development, behavioral management, preventative and interceptive orthodontics, full treatment orthodontics, medicine and hospital dentistry while maintaining an empathetic and sympathetic approach.
The first dental examination is typically performed at around 12 months of age. This is usually an information gathering session that allows us to counsel parents about teething, pacifiers, thumb-sucking, proper feeding, oral hygiene techniques, fluoride status, the effects of diet on the dentition, and injury prevention.
Dr. Bonanni began her pre-doctoral education at the University of Michigan and earned her doctoral degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Prior to attending dental school, she practiced as a registered and certified dental assistant and a registered dental hygienist.
Dr. Bonanni's passion for dentistry and dental research are evidenced by her enthusiasm for her profession and the precision and compassion with which she delivers care.She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society and the East Middlesex District Dental Society.
