Viga is open for breakfast. The beauty of this is if you want a sandwich for breakfast they will take care of you. The home fries are out of this world! You get wonderful cubes of potatoes that are cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside and tender inside. This morning I tried the Treviso. Which is a chicken wrap that has an absolutely amazing pesto. An that's coming from a pesto snob. The staff are really friendly and the prices are really reasonable, especially for downtown Boston.

I like this place for a quick bite, most of the time.
After a variety of sandwiches and pizza, I consider this to be a go-to for lunches.
$6 and change for a slice of pizza and a drink? You betcha.
The chicken Parmesan and meatball Parmesan are fantastic.
Service is usually very fast. There's only been two days where things were crawling, but they also appeared to be short handed.
The service is also polite. Some good people working there.
It's small. You might want to take it to go at peak times. Especially, if the weather is nice.
Clean and bright.

Ordered the chicken parm under the "hot sandwich" category. I picked up right when it came out. The sandwich was the opposite of hot. Chicken was cold, cheese not melted and bread was a little soggy. I would expect there to be at least some crisp in the chicken, but nope! I get there's marinara sauce on it that would potentially make it soggy but the sauce was cold too. It's like I got a left over sandwich from the day before and they didn't even bother to reheat it. McDonald's have better sandwiches than they do.

Their catered offerings are over-priced, over-cooked crap.
They have zero concept of simple dietary concepts (in this case KETO) and appear incapable of googling it either.
3 days of catering went as follows :
Across the board for all 3 days : OUTRAGEOUS prices for what you receive.
Monday :
Food quality actually quite good. Attention to dietary requirements minimal but on target.
Tuesday :
We have to assume that the chef, and any trained personnel resigned on Monday evening. No clue what the hell they think that Keto is, "but salad it ain't"
Wednesday :
Quality of food decline

This place is usually pretty solid but not today.. when I walked in and saw two employees eating the chicken and broccoli which looked good and was loaded with chicken so I ordered the same and there was 1 piece of chicken in the large order I purchased. The employees went through and took all the chicken and left just the ziti and broccoli for the customers.. if I had more time on my break I would have brought it back but do not have the time. Again looking at the employees eating this meal full of chicken is what made me order this in the first place. So disappointed.

I've loved Viga for years but have been disappointed too many times recently. Their pizza is the NY style I like but lately every time I go in it's been sitting for over half an hour and is dried and crusty. Today a fresh pie came out but I got an old slice heated up. Yeah, kinda ruined it for me. I'm piling it with salt. I won't be going back anymore unfortunately. I'll just get a whole pie somewhere else so it's fresh and hot. :(

I used to love this place - maybe it's this particular location.
I was in here last week and got a steak calzone - it must have been old. The meat AND the calzone were like shoe leather, couldn't cut into either. The calzone even had black burned spots on it.
I called and they told me to let them know the next time I went in and they would take care of me. I went in today and ordered a steak pizziola sandwich - Yeck. Sandwich cold and steak tough.
I'll stick to their salads or cold sandwiches IF I go back.

With all the new lunch options that have opened in the financial district, and all the food trucks, I often forget about Viga. But every time I go back there for a sandwich I always ask myself why I don't go more often. All of their signature hot and cold sandwiches are good, but I find myself always getting either the grilled chicken or chicken club. Their focaccia bread for their sandwiches is always fresh. They pack a huge amount of meat and veggies into each sandwich, and everyone working there is overly nice and is smiling. I need to remember to go to Viga more often.

This place is perfect for a work lunch break, even when the line is long it moves quick. I've only tried the cold subs but they are delicious as I'm sure the rest of the menu is as well. I would especially recommend the peasant chicken and basilcata! You also have the option to make your own sandwich which is nice.

Viga has been a recent discovery a mine that has quickly turned into an addiction. With affordable options and quick service, Viga offers everything from sandwiches and salads, to pasta, pizza and specials. They frequently rotate their options and most items are under $8. They even have lunch combos available to patrons.
I'm particularly fond of any of their sandwiches and wraps which feature their delicious, rich pesto sauce. The one I most frequently get is their Treviso ($6.59) which is a grilled chicken breast, pesto sauce, provolone, rice and tomatoes in a spinach wrap. Filling and pretty

We catered Viga for a company lunch today, ordering a variety of difference sandiwches: veggie, turkey, ham, and the chicken breast. I had a couple chicken breast sandwiches on the flatbread that were very good, however, were slathered in a bit too much mayo. Other than that, had a positive experience and will order again -

I really like their food. Wednesday's chicken parm lasagna is my favorite. Chicken cutlet on wheat focaccia is also a favorite. Priced right for the lunch crawd.
The set-up or layout of the place is horrible. They expect you to line up in certain queues depending on what you want to order and then get out of the way for the next person to order while you wait for yours to be made and then fight your way back to the front when they call your order. (run-on sentence intended for effect.)
It was terrible the first few times I went, before I figured out what was going on. even now, I don

Definitely a lunch fan!! My coworker and I were in town for a client meeting and wanted something quick to grab to alleviate our rumbling bellies..and we were recommended to Viga!
I ordered the Naples Salad Wrap and my coworker ordered the buffalo wrap. Both were really good and super filling!
Buffalo Wrap - My coworker had literally been raving about this buffalo bleu cheese sandwich he always gets in Jersey, so he was already craving buffalo something. Of COURSE, Viga would then carry a hot buffalo wrap. He was skeptical about the taste, but was really surprised with how well they carried

Ooooh, so good and nicely priced...not cheap like LA but probably as good as it gets in Bastin, as the locals say.
We had pizza, veggie sandwiches, salads, stuff with pesto :) and ate it at some super cool park with music - I think they (who's they? I don't know) paid a guitarist to entertain us on the lawn...so cultured, but what happens in Winter? I digress...
Food - tasty, kind of rich with all the dressings but still yummy. Maybe because they cater, they understand how hot food textures change and dealt with it accordingly. One of our sandwiches was hot and of course the pizza

If Viga was running the famous breadlines in the U.S. after the Great Depression there would have been no actual "line" to speak of, this place is insanely efficient. It felt liked seconds, not minutes, after I placed my order I was paying for it at the counter, and this was after watching 5 people in front of me do the exact same thing in almost no time at all. The food here is pretty basic Italian sandwiches, pasta and pizza for the most part, but if you're in a rush at lunch it sure beats the hell out of traditional fast food, with probably even quicker service.
