Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga is a traditional, highly active and dynamic form of yoga. When practiced correctly, it demands a high degree of focus and concentration; generates an internal heat that cleanses and purifies; creates a strong, supple body; and brings clarity to the mind. And those that practice it passionately find the Ashtanga Vinyasa system delivers rapid progress and tangible results.
All traditional forms or styles of yoga originated in India over 4,000 years ago. No one is certain exactly, as all yoga was passed down verbally from teacher to student. It wasn't until 2000 years or so ago that "The Sutra's of Patanjali" became the first written document on yoga and the yoga lifestyle.
Mysore (pronounced my-saw) is the city in India where the long-forgotten Ashtanga Vinyasa System was rediscovered Sri K Pattabhi Jois under the direction of his teacher Sri T Krishnamacharya - two of the pre-eminent yoga teachers of the 20th Century. In the West we are used to yoga being taught in a group class format where the teacher leads students through a series of poses.

Dropped into Trevor's Ashtanga class while I was in San Diego for work. It is a very flexible class full of jokes. The "skill level" of the class was so diverse but it never felt like I wasn't being challenged. If you are an Ashtanga practitioner and you're in the area, definitely check out this studio. I wish I could have made it to a Mysore class so I could fully practice but I ran out of time. I felt very welcomed and would love to go back.

The best part about visiting my sister in Little Italy is attending yoga classes at Infinite Yoga! The first class I attended here was an Ashtanga Improv level 3-4. It was everything this bad-girl-ashtangi could have ever asked for. Still remains one of the best classes I have taken to date. Unfortunately, I don't see this class on the schedule anymore!

Since my first visit 3.5 years ago, Infinite Yoga partnered with Cycle OM. Accordingly now there are fewer yoga classes and more cycle opportunities. Nonetheless, everyday there are plenty of chances to get on the mat. Additionally, the space

I love this gem of a studio, and, as an added bonus, I can walk there from my house. Parking can be challenging in little italy, but is quite doable for the 6 am classes, or you can get a parking pass for the evenings.

The yoga focus classes are some of my favorites, as they are short series (usually 6 classes over 3 weeks) focusing on a particular theme or aspect (e.g. handstands, hip openers, etc.), and the classes build upon each other. My favorite part is that you can really start to see yourself progress.

I also enjoy the spin/yoga and spin/strength classes, I just wish they offered more

I had friends tell me for a while that I should do yoga. It took me a while to get over the hump and give it a try. Infinite is a great place to get started. They have classes covering all levels from beginner to advanced and the Tri-Yoga(beginner) and foundational classes were great to get someone completely clueless like me started. I've taken classes from both Trevor and Dana and I can say every session has been fantastic.

You can borrow a mat if you're just getting started so you don't have to spend a whole lot of money just to try it out.

Imagine a crowed studio where the instructor just calls out postures and rarely gets off the mat to give adjustments. Now, imagine the complete opposite. Welcome to Infinite. The classes are never overly crowded and the instructors are top notch, (trained in India). The space is clean and beautiful and is a hidden gem tucked in back of the artist's district in Little Italy. When you walk through the door, you instantly feel like you have been transported to a strange vortex where good yoga still exists. This is not corporate, for the masses, all-levels vinyasa. Infinite is the real deal. I

This is NOT Core Power Yoga. The best astanga-based studio in town, in my opinion. Attention to detail in the instruction (by Dana and Trevor) and theory of the Astanga practice. Dana's Yoga Focus workshops go into fine detail on the mechanics of poses bringing you deeper in understanding and in the stretch you ever thought possible.
Only weakness is occasional carry-over bass music from the cycle studio next door when classes overlap. I find this distracting but it usually only lasts 30 minutes.

Start with the Tri-Yoga on Sunday with Trevor to get a personalized, intro into this yoga studio, whether you're brand new to yoga or an advanced yogi. The 3 for 1 drop in rate of $19 is a total steal. The quality of these classes are really good, and always feel like I get a workout, regardless of the level class I'm taking. These teachers are experienced yoga teachers, unlike other studios with newer teachers, who may not be as passionate about the practice or knowledgable about form and adjustments.

I've only had experience with Trevor and Dominique (a sub who was also good

I love this studio. This is a supportive community that shares a love of yoga. The instructors are top notch and interested in teaching and proper alignment. Trevor does a phenomenal job at making people feel welcome, regardless of their membership, how often they show, or how long it has been. Finally, the addition of the spin studio has been a welcome addition bringing a spin/yoga class. There are limitless options for fitness and adventure in San Diego, but infinite will always be a go to for me.

Unfortunately I had to move from San Diego, but I felt compelled to write a review because I am frequently reminded of what a special place Infinite Yoga is! Trevor and Dana are wonderful teachers. They are both very knowledgeable and their dedication and love for teaching is transparent. Dana has a special way of challenging students (always appropriately) to deepen their practice and understanding. I always appreciated Trevor's light-heartedness, which in Mysore facilitated acceptance and patience.

I know I will not find a replacement studio- I am just grateful that I had the opportunity

I work in the Little Italy area and had finally tracked down my favorite teacher of all time, Bonnie, who was teaching there. I attended the Sunday intro class to get the three free classes they offer to try it out. Trevor, one of the owners gave the introduction about the classes, and we did a little yoga, and I didn't leave with a great feeling, just based on Trevor's level of sarcasm and running joke commentary. I understand he's British and humor is so appreciated and necessary in life, but it was too much for a yoga class.
Last Sunday my wife and I were doing a Little Italy

I took the Tuesday night class with Bonnie. She was wonderful! As a more beginning student she was very helpful in adjusting me and offering me modifications. I am looking forward to returning for her class bi-weekly.

In regards to the studio as a whole, the staff at the front desk was very friendly and the studio was just right. I enjoyed the lack of mirrors as it allowed me to focus on my breath and movement rather than what I looked like in the mirror. It was very calming. The space is smaller but there was plenty of room for all of the students to have our own space. I appreciate Infinite

I've tried a number of yoga studios in San Diego and Infinite is by far my favorite. Good prices - just $11 a class if you buy a class card. Dana is awesome and the studio has a nice welcoming vibe. All classes have a strong Astanga base.

Participated in the Autumn Weekend Workshops this past weekend. This included a two-part adjustment workshop, and one on vocal empowerment through yoga. In these eight hours of training, I learned so much and had fun too! Excellent.

I started my practice recently, and has been a great experience. The Foundation classes had helped me to understand what yoga is about, and enjoy it.

The Studio environment is comfortable. You are challenged, as a student, but not intimidated.

Great instructors!

I have tried many of the yoga studios and styles in town, but I prefer Infinite Yoga and the dynamic Ashtanga-based classes there. I like the intensity of Ashtanga - a workout stressing strength, flexibility and balance, and then complete relaxation. All of the teachers are supportive and caring and very knowledgeable. There is a real sense of community. Even after several years of practicing, I continue to learn something. I like that Infinite has different levels of classes, to allow students to continue to grow. Infinite welcomes the well-practiced yogi and beginners and even people who must

I attended both the Idyllwild retreat and the 200-hour yoga teacher training with Dana Rae Pare at Infinite Yoga. Both were outstanding. Dana is an absolute technical expert. The knowledge she shared was far above my expectations; her energy and passion for yoga are contagious. Every day (of both the retreat and the training) was organized impeccably, each moment filled with useful instruction or fodder for personal growth. The Infinite Yoga Teacher Training not only prepared me to teach, it boosted my confidence, tested my endurance and made me a better yogini. I met a group of new, like-minded

I have tried a lot of studios in San Diego over the past 15+ years and none of them compare to Infinite yoga. There is level of quality of instruction and focus of the students that you don't see in other studios. The teachers are incredibly knowledgable and respectful of the traditions of yoga while being friendly and supportive. When I am asked to recommend a studio, I always recommend Infinite Yoga.

If you are looking for a great yoga studio with teachers who have been through years of training, it truly does not get better than Infinite Yoga. I have practiced yoga for two decades, and I have explored numerous yoga types during that time. I have found a home with Ashtanga and Infinite Yoga.
After a shoulder injury (from walking my dog), I had to have surgery. Physical therapy only got me partially back to where i wanted to be. Once I was well enough, I took a Yoga Focus series of classes with Dana. That got me back to taking classes 3-4 times a week again. When I would go back to physical

Situated in Little Italy, Infinite Yoga is tailored for those who want an authentic Ashtanga practice. After trying out most of the yoga studios in the San Diego region, I was starting to feel a little jaded and bored with my practice. I felt that my practice was becoming more physical than mental, and I wasn't sure if I was really going anywhere with it.

At the urging of my yogini/yogi friends, I tried Infinite. I don't regret it at all, and I wish I came sooner. The teachers I have had here are very nice and they each have their own style and flair; you are bound to have a unique experience

This IS as good as it gets!

We practiced with Dana & Trevor, and many other amazing instructors (Oreste, Troy, Deanna) here for a few years (before we had to relocate). And we have them to thank for our strong foundation. I hear their reminders about alignment, form and breath in my head when I'm in other yoga classes now. They are so dedicated, supportive, endearing and thoughtful. And the space is so relaxing and expansive, with beautiful floors and high ceilings. It is meticulously cleaned.

We are so thankful toward them! And we are so jealous of those of you that live in SD that

I was browsing online for yoga teacher training programs in San Diego... I stumbled upon Infinite Yoga and am so glad I did! The training allows you to completely immerse yourself in two 10 day sessions of yoga. Dana gives great instructions for how to talk students through postures, demonstrations/alignment, appropriate adjustments, as well as learning Sanskrit and history of yoga. IYTT develops confident, insightful yoga instructors.

If you're not looking for a teacher training but a studio to practice at Infinite Yoga is definitely the place to go! Dana, Trevor & all instructors

Dana is a very popular teacher. This is understandable as she possesses a charismatic presence, is thoroughly dedicated to her practice, and is a dedicated teacher of teachers. I've been following her in my own practice since before Infinite Yoga was established.

Trevor's hands on help in Mysore helped me develop my practice beyond many self imposed limits I'd been hindered by.

I received my Teacher Training with Dana. As a dance teacher, I really could appreciate her advocating a specific and clear use of language, devoid of ambiguity, and designed to make students feel at ease
