Services
Alfred and Margaret Guggisberg came to the United States in the 1940s to make cheese. Alfred attended the prestigious Der Molkereischule Zurrannt in Switzerland to become a master cheesemaker. Using his combined experience in cheese making, he worked on a cheese that would better suit the American taste.
Twenty-four beautifully decorated rooms qualify this as a quaint country Inn, with all the comforts of home. All rates include a hot breakfast in the beautiful glassed in breakfast room; as well as a welcome snack in your room upon your arrival. Free wireless internet. Live entertainment outside in the Spring, Summer and Fall months.
While standing atop a hill overlooking the beautiful Doughty Valley, Eric and Julia Guggisberg decided that all of this nature was something that they wanted to share. They had always dreamed of owning an inn, so they established the Guggisberg Swiss Inn in 1993. The Guggisberg Swiss Inn is a quaint 24 room Inn located in the heart of Ohio's Amish Country.

I can never get a date to book every date I try is always booked. Glad there are other places to stay because they must be booked a year ahead. Now for atmosphere it is a great location and not far from the factory and a restaurant that my not reopen sad close for the winter then then they had a hard time reopening. Winter would be perfect for someone to eat heavy European food and fondue as well as go to the inn and enjoy a romantic meal and a good night at the inn.

This is a hidden gem in Amish country, OH. We discovered it initially when coming to do a wine tasting (their wines are fabulous!). We ended up coming back to stay here at the inn a couple weeks later. It is in a quiet country setting that is perfect for getting away from the hustle of life. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is the best around with home cooked options served in a beautiful room surrounded by wall to wall windows to enjoy nature’s surrounding beauty. Highly recommended!

This place is a hidden gem.
My best friend and I stayed this past weekend and loved it.
Everything was above expectations. Breakfast was great. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Winery was excellent. We got some to take back as gifts. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. We will be back next year for sure!

Second time staying here and it will be my last. Was told the first time in October 2020 we could feed the animals. This time was told we couldn't after we already started feeding them. Maybe you should tell your guests that the rules have changed beforehand. When I booked the room, I only booked for 2 nights and for some reason they changed it to 3 and I didn't know til the morning we left and they refused to give me that 3rd nights money back. So I lost over $200 for their mistake.

Quiet, serene location in the heart of Amish country. Close to the bustle and activity if you chose to visit those areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Winery is an added attraction with the live music. Hot breakfasts exceeded our expectations. We look forward to returning in warmer weather to enjoy to beautiful outdoor setting surrounding the Inn. Highly recommended!
