My name is Dr. Izaz Khan and I was born and raised in New Britain, Connecticut. I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor's Degree in Physiology and Neurobiology, attained a Master's Degree in Biomolecular Sciences from Central Connecticut State University, and attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2014.
A comprehensive exam gives a starting point to determine your dental health and the type of dental care you'll need as a new patient. With oral cancer screening, we can identify the first signs of cancer and precancerous conditions to get you the immediate treatment you need. Digital radiographs allow us to identify and document tooth and gum problems not visible to the naked eye.
A comprehensive exam, or in other words a check-up, is recommended each year to make sure you have healthy teeth and gums. With routine exams, you can save yourself time, money and the pain that comes with tooth decay and infections that go unnoticed. A comprehensive exam is separated into three parts.
Your oral health is very important to us, and if you think you are at risk or may have symptoms of oral cancer we would like to see you as soon as possible. Early detection is key when diagnosing and treating oral cancer. Oral cancer is defined as the uncontrollable division of cells that have the ability to cause damage to the affected areas as well as the surrounding tissue.
A large part of understanding you and your families complete oral health, is examining what's going on inside your teeth and below the gums. Digital imaging aids Dr. Khan and his staff in diagnosing and treating the full spectrum of dental conditions. Digital imaging is essentially the next generation of x-ray.

Dr. Kahn is truly one of a kind. He spends so much time with each patient, making sure every question is answered. You never feel rushed or chastised. Dr. Kahn is also great with anxious patients. This is the first time in my life I haven’t dreaded a dentist appointment. You won’t be sorry you made the switch!!!

My experience at IKON Dental was phenomenal. The warmth and friendliness of both the receptionist Kristin and Dr. Khan, and the shared decision making during the visit played a part in one of the best dental office visits I've ever had. I LOVED this dental experience. Dr. Khan was very thorough in explaining my procedure, the X-Ray equipment is much more up-to-date and quicker than other dental offices I have been in the past. He even shows you the X-Rays and goes over everything on a screen right in front of you. Dr.Khan and his office staff were very personable and made my visit extremely comfortable. The office is in immaculate shape, and with the tough times the world is experiencing right now, he made the visit easy and comfortable. Very CLEAN and SAFE environment.

Dr. Khan is phenomenal. Kind, patient and very knowledgeable. It was a dental visit like no other where I didn’t feel rushed, I was informed and after 2 years without a cleaning I was sure I was going to be in pain. Boy was I wrong! It was an overall great experience and I’m actually looking forward to going back!

Dr. Kahn took the time to explain my treatment plan in a way that not only made sense to me, but also accommodated my busy schedule. I can easily tell that he genuinely cares for his patients by his kind and personal demeanor as well as the quality of his work. I couldn’t be happier with the work that he has done so far and am planning on bringing in my family to see him for their dental needs as well. Highly recommend!

Dr.Kahn is wonderful! A friend referred me and after my first appointment I could see why. If you don’t enjoy the dentist see him. He made everything comfortable and calm. He explained everything he did and listened to my concerns. He has helped me get my teeth to a better state. I recommend him to everyone.

I have a history of cavities, so going to the dentist is one of my most postponed appointments. One of the things that I've always hated from other dental visits is the sound of the drilling cavities. However, this dentist uses a tool that helps hold your mouth open and offsets the sound of any drilling. Additionally, there's a TV that you can watch during your appointment. For those of you sensitive to smells, the office does not smell like a typical dental office, almost reminds me of going to a spa. I am glad to have found Dr. Khan.
