I have been a practicing clinical social worker for over 30 years in the Triangle. As a native Chapel Hillian, I have a vast knowledge of educational opportunities (both public and private) and community and state resources for you and your family. I have a very open-minded, psychodynamic approach to therapy.
I have been practicing for over 30 years in the Chapel Hill area and I have a solid knowledge base about community resources, educational settings, health care and hospitals, support groups, etc. I have a long history of working with many different health care practitioners in this area and am happy to confer with yours if that is appropriate and helpful.
After 'interviewing' several counselors, we are so glad we found and chose Betsy to help us work through several situations our child was experiencing at college. Not only did Betsy counsel, care, and help our child but she also helped us, as parents, just by listening and talking through some of our concerns and feelings.

What a waste of time and money. A therapist who doesn't listen and doesn't remember from one session to another what she says is really troubling. We bought some children therapeutic toys from her only to be offered the same toys for sale the following session, just a week later. Pretended to "treat" the child without ever meeting the child. Provided suggestions without ever following up.
If she had an actual office she wouldn't be able to sell the image of tranquility that she projects by seeing clients in her comfortable suburban house. It's a good marketing strategy
