Services
The American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan (ACEC/Michigan) is the business voice of the Michigan consulting engineering industry. Founded in 1956, ACEC/Michigan was organized with the objective of assisting its members in achieving higher professional, business and economic standards, thus enabling them to provide better engineering services in the interest of their clients.
ACEC/Michigan updates its strategic plan every 3 years. The purpose of the plan is to affirm the vision and mission and to identify 3 year strategic goals for the organization. By establishing a vision, mission and strategic goals, the Council identifies the purpose to which it aspires. The strategic plan is reviewed annually to determine the progress being made and if changes are necessary.
ACEC/Michigan committees are the core of the organization through which much of the work is accomplished - work that affects all aspects of the industry from legislative advocacy to legal issues.

Serving on a committee offers a unique opportunity for members to get involved - to make an impact on the professional and business climate, to network, to share information and best practices, and to gain visibility among peers, agencies, clients and other professional organizations with similar interests.
The Board of Directors is responsible for providing governance of the Council in accordance with the laws in which the Council is organized and within the provisions of the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. Board members are elected to a 3 year term by the membership. Ron Brenke from ACEC of Michigan at rbrenke@acecmi.org.
This committee provides input and guidance during the planning of the annual meeting, which coincides with the Michigan Infrastructure Conference. The conference is typically held in May/June in cooperation with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). In accordance with the by-laws, newly-elected board members take office at the Annual Meeting.
