The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience. Dr. Michael S. Blackwood has been specializing in orthodontics since 1994. He is a third-generation orthodontist in the practice began by his grandfather and his father Thomas.
We are able to process claims to most PPO dental plans. We do not participate with any HMOs. However, in order to avoid misunderstandings, please read carefully and understand the following policies in regard to dental insurance benefits. Our professional treatment is rendered to you, not to the insurance company; you are directly responsible to us for the obligation of payment of treatment.
Appointments are an important part of your treatment, and this time has been reserved specifically for you. Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment. We request a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel your appointment, (but sooner is always appreciated).
We strive to provide you with affordable, high-quality treatment that fits your budget! Your treatment plan will include a breakdown of all applicable fees, and we will inform you of all costs before treatment is administered. We offer a variety of payment options to meet your needs. Our office accepts payments by cash, checks, and Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit cards.
