Planning a wake and funeral service for a parent is never easy, whether it is expected or unexpected. I want to express my sincere thank you to C.R. In the days after the death of our family member, we (like most families) were emotional, overwhelmed, and stressed about all that needed to be taken care of. Starting from the moment we called them from the Kaplan Hospice House, CR and Amanda took care of every last detail so that we could focus on taking care of ourselves and honoring the life of my father-in-law. My sister in law arranged her husbands funeral there with another relative. I didn’t participate in arranging with this funeral home. This was a traditional funeral with viewing at their facilities, an off site church service followed by burial. Lyons and Sons - funeral home AND staff are the real deal. They are genuine, professional with out being officious. Another family member ‘priced out’ the same type of service at a competitor (another firm on the North Shore of Boston) and I was told that Lyons et al were about $2200 less than that competitor. I have been to many funeral services at C.R Lyons and Sons that when my dad passed away in May, we didn’t think twice about having C.R take care of our arrangements. CR and Amanda went above and beyond for our family. They made our visitors feel safe during this time of grief and a pandemic. They are always extremely professional and sympathetic and honored some last minute decisions or changes. I highly recommend CR Lyons & Sons Funeral Home in Danvers. Someone is available to answer your questions compassionately 24 hours a day during a difficult time. The Funeral Home is peaceful and beautiful, and it gave us comfort to know that our loved one was treated with dignity and respect. They offer online grief support to those who want it. We had Lyons handle the cremation service for my mother, and I was so appreciative of the entire staff. Amanda, C.R., Ron, Mary Beth, and everyone I dealt with was kind and helpful. They explained our options to us when we pre-planned, which made it easier after mom passed away. They handled her gently and carefully when they took her from the house and added thoughtful touches to the ceremony. We are forever grateful.

What a wonderful experience. The Lyons family treated us with great care and compassion from the moment we notified them of dad's passing. CR, Amanda and their amazing staff were able to accommodate all of our special requests, while taking care of the many details we would have forgotten about during the visitation and funeral service. They warmly welcomed us into their beautiful and comfortable home, holding our hands the entire way. We are forever thankful.

What an amazing place. I attended a wake and funeral the following day and my coworkers and I could not stop repeating how clean, beautiful and welcoming Lyons was.
The staff was highly respectful. The rooms were immaculate (I even looked at the chandelier- no dust!) and an extremely pleasant scent fills each room.
Water, coffee, tissues and mints are available. The decor is simple and understated, and various types of seating styles are available.
