This review is aimed towards the inn, particularly the bungalow room.
It was fantastic. The room was great. A massive bed and spacious room with a wonderful fire place and chic flatscreen tv. The bathroom was as expected, with a large stand-in soaking shower.
The best part of the room, by far, is the view. There is a nice deck looking out to the Atlantic. While there are 5 bungalows all in a row, each deck is private and we never knew there were people staying in the other rooms. The sunrise will wake you up but the shades worked great to block the morning sun.
Parking was not a problem and

This hotel is Ritz Carlton quality! The beds, the location, the cleanliness, the decor and the staff have all made it a wonderful first time experience in Kennebunkport. We will definitely be back and encourage those looking to stay here, please do so! We stayed in the Main House, which has been lovely and has a beautiful ocean view.

We checked in today and were immediately, incredibly disappointed. We were traveling from a sister property (the Claremont in Southwest Harbor), so we had a pre-conception of high-end hospitality. Our reservation was in the clubhouse property (behind the main inn), but when we arrived, we were led to a tired, old building behind the clubhouse that looked like a converted old garage or carriage house. The building has a musty smell and the rooms feel like a roadside motel, including a noisy window AC unit, old bathroom, and other cheap finishes. The furniture and fixtures in the room are visibly

The location of this resort is beautiful. I would recommend staying in the main house. I had some missteps during my stay but these were resolved in a generous way, and much appreciated. 4 and 5-star experiences are about leaving the customer feeling better than when they arrived.

First rate restaurant, very kind staff and beautiful main inn with an ocean view second to none. However, be careful- many of the rooms (most?) are at the “Club House” which is blocks away from that gorgeous view and is nothing like the photos of the main inn. Our Club House room was second rate, included a window AC which makes noise but barely cools, no elevator, in a building that needs updating. There was next to no natural light in the room because one of the two small windows was covered by the AC unit. The website does not provide ample representation of what you get (or rather, do not

Stayed here for three nights in a Clubhouse king suite. If you want a quiet play to stay you will love it here. Pool area was nice as was the 2 hour wine and cheese on Tues afternoon from 2 to 4. Would have been better if it was from 4 to 6 but it was fine. There was supposed to be "music on the lawn" Wednesday afternoon. We showed up and were told it was cancelled. Would have been nice to know that before so we could have adjusted our afternoon accordingly. Room was nice as was the morning pastry and orange juice that they provide for free each day. Free bikes are nice too even

Ocean Restaurant at Cape Arundel Inn continues to be a stand out for their high end attention to the food, drinks, and service. If you are looking for a five star service restaurant in the area with the charm of a quaint New England coastal inn this is the place to be. With stunning water views and spectacular hues from sunsets, this restaurant continues to be a favorite of mine in the area. Although a little on the higher price side you will be charmed by the quality of the food and the expert skill of the preparation. The service continues to be focused on the guest and the guest experience

Very beautiful property, clean, and pleasant staff. Been coming here for years. Would have given 6 stars, but the resort has definitely cut back on its amenities that made it special. Previous years you were given a glass of champagne on arrival, had breakfast for guests included, had an afternoon wine and cheese get together, and had pool service for their guests.
Just got back from our anniversary there, and all this was cut. For guests returning from previous visits you would find a bit disappointing, but new guests would find this resort excellent. My suggestion would bring back your

Everything was just as represented. We stayed in the Clubhouse, not the Main building. We were informed of this at the time we made our reservation. The actual property is accurately reflected in web photos. Included breakfast was very good, perhaps 4 stars. Beautiful, new pool. Great views, professional staff.

If you get room 2, the one with the balcony (website calls it "Ocean Suite"), bear in mind, you are right over the deck and lounge area where they play lounge music at night and you WILL hear everything. Muffled music, bass and drum, for hours. Bum bum, do do do, duh duh duh duh, do do do, duh duh duh duh, bum bum bum constantly for 4 HOURS. I felt like a parent telling the teenagers to turn their music down. They did turn it down some but I could still hear it. The front desk said she'd ask the restaurant manager which leads me to believe maybe the restaurant is managed separately

The food here at Ocean is delicious, and the view is wonderful, especially at sunset. Only one thing prevents me from giving it the full five stars. The gift card I had purchased would have covered the full price of the dinner plus a generous tip. However, I was informed that they could not take the tip out of the card. Why? If I had given them the same cash I gave them for the card, it would have been okay. If I had charged the same amount to the credit card, it would have been okay. But when I pay them that same money for the gift card, and then give them back the gift card, there are restrictions

Restaurant review for Ocean: Top notch foodie experience, with ocean views and impeccable service. This is one of the best dining locations in the Kennebunks, and for people who appreciate food this is not to be missed. The cocktail menu is right on point, with a number of hand crafted drinks with fresh ingredients. The wine list was superb, with highly rated wines in most price ranges. For dinner, we all loved our choices. Peekytoe crab soup was heavenly, and the interplay of flavors made it a real experience. Beet salad was ten steps above ordinary, with a clean, fresh taste that made

Horrific experience... Booked through hotels.com where they showed a picture of the Inn...where I've stayed on and off for the past 15 years... Along with the picture was the address and pictures of the rooms that I've stayed in.

When we arrived they said we were not staying at that location but would be staying at a sister location which turned out to be in the woods about a half a mile away...Woods, no Oceanview, not the address I had reserved and verified.

I thought it was a bad joke... I showed them the reservation with the picture of the inn and pictures of the rooms. No small

My husband and I stayed two nights at the Old Fort. The front desk staff was pleasant and offered us a welcome glass of champagne. The lobby is nicely decorate and felt very cozy with a small bar, a pool table, a fireplace, and several sitting areas. We were shown to our room past a pool which was closed when we were there in October. The pool area looked like it would be a perfect spot if it had been open.
Our room was large with a very comfortable, big bed and a seating area. Our room had a walk in closet and a small kitchenette area with a sink, fridge, coffee and tea station. The bathroom was

Went to Ocean for a "Happy Hour" on Wednesday when we first got to Kennebunkport. If these were drink and dining specials, you could not tell by the pricing. That being said, it was worth the money for the incredibly serene experience, with elegant acoustic guitar and beautiful views of the water. We tried the lamb meatballs and bacon wrapped escargot which were both great. Our drinks were phenomenal, perhaps the best drinks we had while visiting Maine. We can't remember their names but the champagne, blueberry and st. Germaine drink and the manhattan-esque drink were both fantastic

It is interesting how they market this restaurant as "Ocean," but Yelp still calls it the Cape Arundel Inn. Irrespective, it's part of the Inn. The best part about this place is the setting. This part of Maine is beautiful, but parts of it can be crass and commercialized. Particularly Old Orchard Beach to the north, and Ogunquit to the south, though in a very different way. Many restaurants in these places have ocean views, but here, you will have an unmolested view deep into the Atlantic Ocean. You'll see lobster pots and lobster boats plying their trade, sailboats coming

This was a surprising treat in a town full of lobster rolls and vacationers. They have a beautiful dining room with huge windows with views of the ocean and the Bush compound. We sat at the bar and got and still got great service. The dining room was fully booked on a weeknight, so plan in advance! I would highly recommend this if you're looking for a fancier meal in Kennebunkport.

My husband made a reservation for my birthday and told me it was "fancy". I tried to dress accordingly and in reality, I think I looked fine but honestly, you could get away with wearing a ball gown here. Suits, ties, diamonds for days...it's Fancy Schmancy.

The dining crowd was a mixed bag. Wealthy elderly, college prep coeds, misguided tourists, and us....young professionals who just love good food. Service was formal but friendly and our waitress was more than happy to confirm any questions I had about the menu items.

I was so tempted by the Shellfish Tower but instead landed

As a review before mine mentioned, the Cape Arundel Inn has renovated the dining room and replaced its old chef with a new one. Unfortunately, the restaurant has also replaced its charm for trend and professional servers for teenagers on college break.

My boyfriend and I went for dinner for my birthday. We had gone the year before and I couldn't wait to go back. The service was not terrible and the food was great. For someone who has never been to this restaurant before, they most likely would not have been as disappointed as I was.

This is the first time we have dined at the Inn since they have the new chef and have renovated the dining room. They have certainly kicked it up a substantial notch or two since our last visit, several years ago.
The ambiance is beautiful, inviting, with most seats having a beautiful view of the ocean and crashing waves.
We ordered an appetizer from the tapas menu. The tapas menu is not part of the regular menu but was in menu with signature cocktails (worth asking for it). We ordered the cod beignets - very fun, delicious way to start meal, they did taste just like beignets with just

Immediate disclaimer -- that rating should be 3.5 stars. Four stars for location and ambience, three stars for food and service. (The fifth star is simply out of reach now that Jack has left the building. ;)

Another local eatery that we've frequented often yet have never reviewed, CAI is an absolutely dependable "charming evening out". Drinks on the front porch should be a required stop on the K-Port tourist maps, and the ambience of the grounds and the old cottage style inn is absolutely special. Cape Arundel Inn is a beautiful place to stay if you just want to relax and have a decent amount of money to spend doing it. The rooms are expensive, but my family stayed in the Rockbound rooms (on the side) twice and both times we LOVED IT! Large glass doors that open up to a little patio, allowing you to fall asleep to the sound of the Atlantic crashing against the rocks on the shore. Lovely. Who needs a sound machine?! Very clean, automatic fireplace, and decorated with a sort of colonial feel. The epitome of quaint.

Most of the people that work there are very nice. A few have sticks
