Services
Finch Funeral & Crematory started in North Liberty, Indiana in 1910 under the ownership of Louis G. Finch. Mr. Finch relocated the business to Mt. Morris, Illinois in 1920 and established a retail furniture business as well. After serving our country in WW II, Louis' sons, Charles W. and Louis Jr. returned home and joined the family business.
At Finch Funeral & Crematory, we take great pride in caring for our families, and will work tirelessly to provide you with a beautiful, lasting tribute to your loved one. In addition to the services we offer, you will receive an online memorial that you can share with family and friends. While honoring your loved one is our top priority, we also want to help you through this difficult time.
When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one.

She was the Boone. Bob was known to family and friends as a strong, steadfast, one-of-a-kind man whose seemingly gruff exterior housed a deep sense of loyalty to those he loved, a natural inclination and ability to protect, a wholly smart-witted.
General funeral services we offer include full visitations with a proceeding service the following day, visitations with services immediately following, and graveside services. These are simply examples, as our services and their order are tailored around your needs. It is our goal to listen, suggest, and carry out ceremonies that are both comforting and full of meaning.

Lou Finch IV sat down with me many times when securing prearrangements for an Aunt who was in her late 90's. When the day came that she passed he took care of all the arrangements and assisted us in making sure her wishes were all met. My thanks goes out to him and my experience with Finch Funeral Home was very good.

I can’t even speak for the way they conduct themselves if you’ve made arrangements with them, but I will speak on the way they conduct themselves on the phone in a conversation I had on Friday that lasted less than 30 seconds I had called to ask them about cremation cost and how to make arrangements for my gravely ill mother who will most likely be passing soon. Instead of any form of compassion I was cut off after asking about cost and met with a curt $2000-2200 and promptly hung up on before I could even get the next word out of my mouth. If this is how they want to conduct themselves I will

Our experience with Finch's Funeral Home was smooth and we felt supported in what we wanted for our fathers funeral. From the moment we walked in to make plans, through the last person during the visitation, we were welcomed and gently supported in the funeral process. I cant say enough about Sam, Jacqui, and family in helping us get through the process of bringing closure to our fathers life.

If this place could get '0' Stars - this is it. All the the owner could tell our family was 'this is how we do it' in the country.
No coffee. No cookies. Time and time again he told us, you must be from the city. Last time I checked, Elgin was not in the City. I was mourning the loss of my father, and the funeral home director was not helpful. Really - a 1 hour wake. How ridiculous is that.
The wake was on a Thursday and the obituary showed up in the paper on the next Sunday.
They were rude to us from start
