Brickhouse Environmental was founded in 1977 by Walter B. Satterthwaite during a period when an abundance of new environmental acts were implemented, setting the stage for the modern era of environmental rules and regulations.
From the 1970s to the 1980s the first sweeping environmental regulations were signed into law including, the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), and the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA).

David Farrington is a licensed Professional Geologist, focused on subsurface contaminant delineation and remediation, hydrogeologic studies, contaminant migration through groundwater and soil vapor, emerging contaminants e.g. PFAS, and litigation support in all of these areas.
As President and partner of the company, he continues to track emerging markets, while stressing the importance of sound science to develop trusted solutions for our clients.While he is a big picture thinker, he also believes that there is no substitute for attention to detail.

Douglas Schott is the Director of Geologic Services and a Senior Project Manager at Brickhouse Environmental. He is a licensed Professional Geologist with more than 20 years of experience managing and implementing comprehensive geologic and hydrogeologic investigations for our solid waste, industrial, and land development clients.
The Brickhouse Environmental Green Team is an active committee among the employees. Staff members have been applying sustainable practices at home and at work for many years. More recently, several of us decided to take it to the next level to raise awareness and increase the positive impact. This committee is made up of a diverse group of Brickhouse Environmental employees who are setting out to turn their work space into a green space.
