Just went to this salon for the first time and had Melissa cut my hair. She is such a sweet person and very talented. I love my new haircut. Many times I leave a salon and then going home and wash my hair to redo how they styled my hair. But not this time, she gave me a great cut and style. The real test is can I get it to look good in my own, and with Melissa's cut, I definitely can. I am really happy with my haircut. I will definitely be going back, I only wish I went to her when she was in Menlo Park since I live there, but I will happily drive to San Jose to go back for my next haircut

I don't trust anyone to cut my hair but Nina! She's been cutting my hair for about ten years. I've now lived on the East Coast for the last three years, have *desperately* tried to find a hair dresser I like. Every 6 months or so, I'd do a lot of research to find a great salon, get a bad (and expensive) haircut, then have to wait for my next visit home to family for Nina to repair it. At this point I've given up. I don't care that M Hair Studio is 3,000 miles from where I live, it's worth it!

Well, its another year and my hair continues to look and feel fabulous! Melissa has never disappointed. Now my two teen daughters are also going to Melissa and very happy. My older daughter had her hair cut short for the 1st time in her 18 yrs (she was born with hair and we just let it grow, with occasional trims.) She left for college with a new do and full of confidence. She and I both have very fine, straight hair. My middle daughter is a complete opposite. She has extremely curly, thick hair. And Melissa cut and styled her hair perfectly! Melissa can do it all!

Melissa did a touch up hair color for me and it was a great experience. She was kind enough to fit me into her busy schedule as I desperately needed a touch up to look good for an event that night. I love the color she used and the glaze made my hair softer and shinier than it's been since I started dying it. Her brush rollout made me look fabulous. I didn't need a haircut but will definitely return to her when I do.

I have been going to Mel for years now and she is absolutely the best hairstylist. She listens and understands what you want and does an excellent job with my color and cut. Love her so much that I couldn't imagine going to anyone else. I highly recommend you get your hair done by Mel. She is not only a great stylist, she is a wonderful person as well!

The salon is adorable. A very comfortable place to relax and enjoy the experience. Mel is fantastic!! She has a ton of experience and is focused on the texture and movement of my hair. She really listens to what I want and is completely focused on what works best for me and my sense of style and personality. Truly the best there is!

Nina is a wonderful and experienced hair stylist. She was able to accommodate my request for an appointment last minute. The salon is small but tidy and well maintained. The two partners appear to take good care of customers.
Nina worked on my hair and was attentive to my needs and did a very good job of cut and shampoo. The salon uses quality products and the hair cut was done on time and met my expectations. I will be a repeat customer.

I followed Melissa over from her previous salon, and I'm very very glad that I did! M Hair Studio is totally professional, from the moment you contact them (hooray, a business that answers its emails!). They've been fantastically flexible about scheduling, even for last-minute child-related issues. Melissa always does a great job on my cuts and colors. When I said, "Cut it all off and make it blonde!" she made very, very sure that *I* was sure and we spent a few days testing out the chemicals on my hair before taking the plunge. Melissa has been doing my hair for a few years now. Before I found her I went through a few hairdressers that always seemed to have a problem with my long hair. You see, I have pretty thick hair and every time to get it highlighted it gets a little tangled and it's hard for most hairdressers to work with. I've had one roll their eyes at me, another worked really hard to convince me to cut it, I was just made to feel uncomfortable instead of being able to relax and enjoy my "me" time while I get my hair done. Awesome experience - I had called several salons in need of a last minute highlight as my previous stylist had cancelled my appointment due to her being sick. I still needed my hair rescued badly and Melissa called back. She said at first they didn't have anything open on Saturday but would let me know if anyone cancelled. I then got a call shortly after saying she could squeeze me in. I gladly accepted after reading all the great reviews I knew even if it was rushed the outcome would be likely good. I was right... These ladies are great! I've been seeing Nina for a few months now, and I always leave there feeling so much better than when I walked in. She always takes the time to ask me what I want, and lately I've been wanted a change every time I go in and she always suggests new ways to freshen up my hair. I've had both cut and color from her now, and continue to be impressed with her work, and I get compliments all the time on my hair. Never been disappointed and can't wait to go back!

I had really beautiful platinum blonde, long hair. For more than 6 years I died my hair. I didn't have any problem with my color and scalp.
I moved to Menlo Park 6 months ago. I found this salon with excellent reviews.
I made an appointment. Of course, I was confident that I will have good service and perfect result. Melissa promised it to me. I needed only color treatments for my dark brown roots. It's pretty simple treatment, so it's not a problem for a colorist.

2) don't want a barber shop type cut
3) don't want a frufru salon experience
4) want / need flexible and responsive scheduling
I am sure M is great for other stuff too, but this is the place I have been looking for over the last 10 years. Melissa gives an awesome haircut at a reasonable price, and its super convenient to Sand Hill Road offices.

M Hair Studio is an adorable shop right across the street from the Dutch Goose. The shop is tiny, but so warm and inviting you feel like you're visiting in someone's living room.

This review is for Meli McNeil at M Hair Studio. Meli is so personable and talented and I feel great entrusting my hair to her. I was actually a hair dye virgin when I sat in her chair for the first time, but was ready for a change. I wasn't very good at articulating what I thought I wanted, but Meli was very patient and intuitive in helping me explain, and transformed my hair with beautiful, natural-looking blonde highlights and a fresh haircut. This review is for Nina, who gave me a great haircut recently. She asked me what I want and gave me just that, and was super friendly. On my way out she noticed a few uneven strands and made the adjustments.
As for the location, it's super easy to find and parking should not be a huge problem. Cute ambiance in the place, and they're open until 9 on Tuesday nights so us working folks can look good.
