We are passionate Board Certified Therapists located in San Diego, CA. We have two GTSD locations in San Diego, Encinitas and Sorrento Valley. Currently, we are offering both in-person and video therapy for both individual and couples counseling during the current public health crisis. We are dedicated to building the bridge between your mental and physical well being during this challenging time.

Our goal is to create safety within our relationships so that you can freely explore any issue in your past or present. During treatment you will uncover old patterns that aren't working for you anymore and learn new ways of being that will release you from the cycle of pain and deliver hope. Coming to a decision to address mental discomfort is brave and the first step to emotional freedom.
Services
Individual therapy, counseling, or psychotherapy involves meeting with the therapist one-on-one. Some reasons you may seek individual therapy may include feelings of being trapped or alone, constant worry, crisis/ transition, depression, anxiety, recent divorce, and lack of motivation or ability to change.
We do not accept insurance and we do not bill insurance providers directly. We can provide receipts to you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. This is only for PPO plans with out-of-network benefits. PPO plans usually will reimburse somewhere between 40-80 percent after your deductible.
As a private practitioner, Katie Brooks has continuously provided individualized attention and support, one client at a time, for the last 9 years. As the Clinical Director of Good Therapy San Diego, she has expanded her overall impact to the community by touching the lives of dozens of clinicians and thousands of clients.
There comes a time in everybody's life when we realize that we need support. My partner and I really enjoy our regular couple's therapy sessions with John! He is empathetic and accommodating to both of our needs and inspires us to be more compassion to each other. Lindsey is a beyond amazing!! Couldn't have picked a better therapist! I've been working with Lindsey for nearly 6 months now. She has been very patient with my growth. I found Good Therapy online for a prior covert emotional abuse due to a relationship in my past. I was told Madison would be able to help me with the kind of emotional abuse therapy I described to the doctors.

After every therapy session I felt much worse than before I walked into the appointment. For my first therapy appointment, I thought it was to be expected that I would feel uncomfortable, but the appointment left me more confused. After a week, after another appointment, Madison still made me feel much worse than before I walked into the appointment.

I'll start off by saying making the first call into Good Therapy to set up my initial appointment with Chelsea was one of the better decisions I've made. It sounds cliché, but I never could have seen myself going to a therapist....Ever.

GTSD has been a saving grace for me. I worked with Chelsea for a few months last year as I was deep in a transition of my life and she helped me really overcome a lot of things I'd been stuck in and with for a really really long time. Therapy is something that we all need, either for periods or for longer and I can't find the right words to really express how much I appreciate Chelsea and the whole team at GTSD.

Alyssa has been so amazing! She has helped me through the grieving process following a friend's death, as well as provided insight towards career path and relationship decisions. She is kind and empathetic, and she brings such a calming and positive presence to each session. Over just a few months, she has helped me to gain self-confidence and establish stronger boundaries in my life. She is an amazing therapist, and I cannot recommend her enough!

So far I am a fan. They do not take insurance only bill you and you try to reimburse. I have some friends that see an older lady here and really like her. I see Dr. Rettger and so far like m. He has a PHD and does traditional therapy The Gottman Method. I like that he is married and practices this way. Alternative can be ok, but I prefer methods. FYI if you see him, he will tell you, if you tell him something in your session that you may not want your spouse or partner to know, if it would impact the relationship he will make you tell. He has this no secret policy. I honestly think that whatever

Terrible place. I was told no when I asked for an updated esa letter which I've had for years. My dog has relieved my anxiety for years. If you have a anxiety do not come here, especially if you have service dog needs. Awful.

Good Therapy set me up with my therapist, Heather, and she is the best. When I contacted Good Therapy, they had a quick response and I felt like they really wanted to help me out- I was set up with an appointment the next day! Chelsea is so perfect it's almost magical. I had a huge, terrifying fear of birds. It was to the point I couldn't enjoy being outside because I was always searching for birds and making sure they weren't encroaching on my space. After less than two months with Chelsea she helped me work through some of my issues and then truly helped subside my fear of birds. Chelsea completely changed my outlook on therapy as a whole. After being the victim of a motor vehicle accident, I was left with intense PTSD. The flashbacks, anxiety and fear where nothing short of a living nightmare. Chelsea's care and EMDR techniques changed my life for the best. I highly recommend her services for anyone experiencing ANY kind of trauma.

Dunya is an amazing relationship counselor. She openly listens in a very non judgmental atmosphere but also helps stimulate you and your partner's discussion with each other. This is a big thing for me, that a counselor doesn't just sit there and wait for you to say something, but actually contributes to the session often. She does a great job of that. Her overall focus is the couple communicating back and forth to each other, (instead talking to her about the other person) and learning to communicate in a listening and empathetic manner.
