Dr. Hurt has spent 30 years practicing dentistry in the North County of San Diego. He has extensive experience in most areas of treatment including cosmetic dentistry, laser whitening, laser surgery, implants, root canal therapy, treatment of periodontal disease, crown and bridge work, dentures and surgery for simple and more complicated extractions such as wisdom teeth.
Prophylaxis is a standard process that is performed by the hygienist each time you have a dental cleaning. Prophylaxis includes scaling and root planing. Scaling is the removal of calcified plaque and tartar from the outer surfaces of the teeth. Root planing is scaling that takes place below the gum line.

So i call to make an appointment for cleaning the girl at the front desk was nice answering my questions, Maria told me I was going to pay $149 for the cleaning,. When I got there another lady was asking for $350 dollars supposedly adding additional services that I didn't request..

My recent visit during this pandemic at this Dental office was very good. I was actually the last patient that day, so it was a ghost town in the office. Hyatt was my Dental hygienist and was very well protected in what appeared to be a NASA space suit, and I’m not kidding!
It’s quite evident they sanitize everything even while you are there and after you leave. I felt comfortable the whole time, and was a little apprehensive and called the office a few days in advance, to understand the process. Such an amazing, warm, family atmosphere. All the office staff treat you with such genuine friendliness. Dr. Hurt is a highly skilled and outstanding dentist. He takes great care in the treatment of his patients, and inspires trust and confidence. Five stars are not nearly enough...this practice deserves a perfect 10.

I highly recommend San Marcos Dental. I did not have a dentist and had to find one asap due to severe tooth ache. U read the reviews of a few and decided on Dr. Hurt. They saw me in 2 hours, and had my tooth fixed in an hour. Everyone was extremely friendly and efficient. Dr. Hurt and his assistant were incredible. Prices were reasonable. Extremely pleasant experience!

Amazing experience! The staff was patient and listened to my wisdom teeth problems. They communicated with me a plan and exceeded my expectations. I'm pleased with the care provided and strongly recommend them for all your dental needs. Again, it was and continues to be an amazing medical experience.
