Texas Yoga Center
It is the nature of the mind to think. Try looking at something in nature for a few seconds, and during that brief pause, your brain will take a break. You will begin to let go of stress and tension. If you are new to yoga, it is a perfect time to join us. We are working on the basics that teach techniques for better flexibility, strength, and balance.

And - learning skills that help the mind rest. A regular yoga practice unlocks your body and refreshes your brain. FREE UNLIMITED YOGA available for the duration of the course. This program is taken by people new to yoga and those with years of yoga experience; people who just want to learn more for their personal practice; and those who want to teach right away, or at some point in the future.
Services
Texas Yoga Center opened in 2001 and is privately owned by Barbara Morrison, who is a native Houstonian. She has been practicing yoga for 26 years and received her yoga certification through The Yoga Institute of Houston in 1999. Barbara received a diploma in Ayurveda Science in 2003, Wellness Coach certification in 2006, is a Reiki Master and teaches a Nationally Accredited Yoga Teacher Certification Course.
I have been using meditation more and more to help with pain management, as well as just keeping myself centered. I would like to share an experience I had recently while undergoing an MRI. I was in quite a bit of pain and wondered whether I could calmly lie there and remain still, so they didn't have to stop and re-do portions of the MRI.
I hear from so many people who are concerned that 'they don't know enough', or 'they are not good enough at yoga' to take this course. But that humble spirit tells me that you have a heart that is ready and everything else will fall into place. Don't let your experience, age, or anything else stop you from this journey.
You are invited to join us for a fun-filled and relaxing retreat at Horseshoe Bay Resort on Lake LBJ. I have so many fond memories for Lake LBJ and Marble Falls vacationing there as I grew up. Now my own family has grown up playing on the lake, so it is very special to us. Our mantra is "No bad days at the lake".
AYURVEDA (eye-your-vay-duh) is the sister science of yoga which teaches that nature stays balanced naturally and without effort and that we can also stay healthy and balanced naturally. During an Ayurvedic consultation you will learn your unique body constitution and receive guidelines for foods, herbs, and a daily routine that will bring you into balance naturally.

Went to the beginner class on Saturday morning a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed learning some of the basics. Teacher was kind, and the ambiance was nice.

I have been going to Texas Yoga Center off and on since 2007. The staff is professional and excellent. I've been to many yoga centers and this one is by far my favorite. It's low key and nobody is trying to out do each other. It's locally owned and Barbara, the owner, is very sweet and cares about the progress of her students. If you're looking for a laid back introduction to yoga this is the place for you! Their intermediate and advanced class (T, TH 7 pm) is awesome if you're looking to take your yoga to the next level. Compared to other yoga studios the price is reasonable

Good place for beginners. More experienced yogis will be distracted by the street noises and cell phones going off during classes
