In yoga, we often begin class with an invitation -- to release the weight of judgements or expectations. To practice with a spirit of openness, awareness and self compassion. These principles are at the heart of a mindful approach to pregnancy, birth and parenthood. They are the foundation of my work with families -- on and off our mats.
I'm a mother of three amazing grown-up humans, a yoga and mindfulness teacher, a birth doula, a childbirth educator, and a community builder. I've worked with people in and around the transitions of growing their families for over a decade. It's my deep privilege to meet you right where you are, and to hold space for you, without judgement or expectation.

Comfort Measures for Birth: In this class, I will be sharing all my best doula tips, tricks, and tools for comfort and coping through labor including positions, massage, breath and more. This class is appropriate for those planning for an unmedicated birth, as well as those open to pharmacological pain relief.
Melissa was an amazing support for not only myself, but my husband as well. It was nice knowing that someone was looking out for both of us and our soon to be baby boy. I was very thankful for Melissa's calm demeanor and gentle guidance. She was always there when needed, yet was very mindful of the intimate moments of childbirth.

Taking Melissa’s Yoga Mama class was probably the best thing I did for myself during my pregnancy. Coming from a hot vinyasa and Bikram yoga background, I was looking for a yoga practice that was focused on pregnancy and preparing for labor, without the heat. I found so much more.
Yoga Mama is more than prenatal yoga, it’s a community. The first part of class is an opportunity to go around the room and share information, like your guess date, where you are delivering, what’s going on in your pregnancy that week... Easily and quickly you find yourself among friends sharing experiences, resources
