Here is some information about our wonderful staff who will gladly help you in any way they can. Together we have over 110 years of combined jewelry experience. The original "Son", Ron Yates is one of the three owners here at Yates Jewelers and has over 50 years in the business. Master of all facets of the jewelry business, Ron can answer almost any question about the industry.
There's no need for you to pre-sort your items - we're happy to examine each item and sort it as part of our review process. We initially start with tests to separate "fun" or "costume" jewelry from that made from precious metals. After the sorting process, individual gold and silver pieces are identified by examining the stampings to determine the karat/purity of the precious metal content.
When you go to the bank would you hand the teller a handful of cash, let them take it to another room to count, and let them deposit it in a week or two? We didn't think so! That's why we provide personalized face-to-face service. My new fiance surprised me with a beautifully crafted solitaire diamond ring from Arthur Yates & Sons. He told me they offered amazing service as he didn't really know too much about precious stones and ended up making multiple visits.
Since then, I've been back a few times - for sizing and a minor adjustment - and they've made me feel very welcome . I can confirm their service is amazing....I know I can be be a bit demanding sometimes! :)

I wanted to sell off my ex wives engagement ring and wedding band since the divorce was final. I read online this place has fair prices and treats people well. Someone must have been having a bad day. I brought the rings down to see how much they’d offer for the 2 white gold rings with diamond inlays. Yes the diamonds are small I know. The buyer takes out one ring looks it over with that eye thing and offers $100 for the ring he looked at and the one he never even took out of the box as well. He said they’d buy mostly for the gold. I have the original receipt that was maybe 4 cents on the dollar

I saw the commercial on TV if few years ago and I just felt like that somebody I could do business with. I trusted them with a very precious diamond and they really help me get in the right setting, they did not overcharge me it was very simple and ever since then I have been going there trade in some jewelry I bought a beautiful ring. I drove to Arthur Yates and Son Jewelers thinking they would offer very little for my jewelry and coins but they actually offered me more money than anywhere else I had been. Great experience this afternoon selling some old jewelry. I was greeted/helped promptly, my items were sorted, weighed, calculated and within minutes I had a check in my hand. An older gentleman who I'm… guessing was one of the owners came up and greeted me, shook my hand, asked how my day was going, and thanked me for stopping in. Super nice people, will definitely consider Yates next time I'm in the market to purchase and will recommend them to my friends.
