Services
The custom design process begins with a personal consultation with Master Designer K. Frances. During this consultation, you will discuss the design of the jewelry and the materials. From this discussion, a sketch of the piece is developed. The next step is to carve a wax model of the design. Now, the piece is ready to be cast and stones set.
Our goal is to create one-of-a-kind pieces for life's special moments. Custom design your wedding bands with the help of master artist Kay Frances so that you will be sure to create a piece that is as special and unique as your love for one another. From the early 70's Romero's produced designs that are still prize today.
Kay Frances Designs at Romero Jewelers offers unique stunning designs for all occasions. A native New Mexican, Kay Frances has always had a tender heart and artistic soul. Kay creates images from words spoken by people who are searching for something magical, incorporating artistry, loyalty and a desire to promote what is best about New Mexico and the Southwest into every piece.

I am so pleased with Romero Jewelers! Kay helped me design my engagement ring from the ground up. I am beyond impressed with her skill set and her patience through all of my ideas. I have worked with Kay over the years. She custom made a particular ring that I absolutely cannot love enough. We sat and talked about my style but I wasn't even sure what I wanted. Before I knew it she had exactly in mind and created truly a piece of art. She is by far the most talented person I have ever known. She knows the customers heart and what they really want. She does not stop working until she knows you are in love with your piece. She makes it for you and only you. You will never see anyone else after you work with Kay.

I've had very good luck with Kaye at Romero Jewelry. She has designed a few custom items for my family, and the attention to detail was very good. The pricing was competitive, and the three different jobs were done within the time period promised.
Her ability to carve, cast and create custom work is exceptional, and I will be working with her for some additional custom jewelry this week. I look forward to it!

I went to Romero’s after I researched jeweler at the request of my son for an engagement ring for his Girlfriend. I had family diamonds that my son inherited. My son had a photo of what he wanted. I took it to Kay and she made the most beautiful custom ring I have ever seen. When they get married they want to have Kay do their wedding bands. She did a fantastic job. Thanks Kay

I want to say "first and foremost" when starting out with listing "why", but I realize that all of the things which make Romero's such a quality experience can't be ordered by priority. Kay does so well all of the things which make Romero's a complete treasure for New Mexico.

We went here for both of my wedding ring sets (a replacement set later was due to theft). The first time, all was well even with lax business practices and loose timelines. However the second time we paid in full and I didn't get my rings for 5 MONTHS! We were lied to, deceived and completely taken advantage of. I had to go to the actual jeweler who does the work at a different company to get my rings finished, and thankfully the other company finished them out of kindness as all the money we had paid to Romero Jewelers was gone. They treated MULTIPLE clients this way! So cut out Romeo Jewelers
