In 2008, we celebrated our company's 50th Anniversary. Harold "Speed" Coe started Speed's Towing in a Flying A service station at Broadway and West Burnside. Burnside was Auto Row for Portland then, and Speed's served many new car dealers, and the retail public. At the high point in 1996, Speed's operated 151 trucks out of 14 locations, covering greater Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, and Salem.

Our 2 covered car carriers can haul one vehicle on the bed, and tow one vehicle behind. They are equipped with air dump suspension, in order to lower the load angle for lowered car and for those with a long overhang past the tires. We use the very latest 8 point tiw down system, touching only the tires of the towed vehicle.

Car wasn't able to start so I called this company after AAA couldn't give me an ETA. Needed a tow from Hillsboro, OR to Vancouver, WA. Had a 40 minute wait
time and I was greeted by Chris, who was an absolute blast! Not only was he very professional, extremely knowledgeable, but super fun to talk too. Great guy to ride along with. My car made it to our destination in one piece. Pictures were taken of my car before and after. Paperwork was a breeze too. I high recommend this company and Chris is an extraordinary employee!

Experienced a blowout Friday on Sauvie Island, without a spare. Called Speedy, and they had a truck there in roughly an hour. Loaded my vehicle without issue, and dropped me at Les Schwab in St Johns. Solid experience.
Only issue was removing the hook from front axle. Driver had to use hammer and crowbar to deal with a stuck hook, which was disconcerting. Luckily no damage done.

I have been rescued twice from the side of the road my Nick from speeds. He is wonderful about checking in and getting you status updates. He quickly got my car on the truck and shared what he found with the technicians. I’m hoping this time is the charm at the repair shop but if it isn’t I know who I’m calling. Thanks speeds. Was involved in an accident. Car was towed by Speed's. Called to find my car and get personal items out. The dispatcher were outstanding and went above to make sure I got what information I needed and made appointment for me. Caleb met me at the tow lot and was very helpful in assisting me. Was expecting between 12 & 2pm....called at 10:10am said they would be there in 10 minutes. I had to call back let them I would be 20+ minutes to arrive was expecting them later. No issues,

Called just after 5 pm when my car blew a belt, and rolled onto a parking lot. They told me up to 3 hours and I waited. Just after 2 hours, they call and tell me they wouldn't be out til the morning. I'm stranded in some parking lot and had to call another company that was three hours out. I tried calling them back and they disconnected my call 4 times. So, I think you are better off calling someone else.

They did the job well, but I had a hard time getting my van back. They were insisting I deliver the release in person, and I was too ill from the heat to do so. And if I didn't do as they wish they threatened me with collection activity and leins. I finally paid Lyft $60 to drive the documents over and drop them off.

I called Speedy two weeks ago and spoke to a nice girl on the phone, I asked her questions about the process and the price and all. I was told if I called 24 hours ahead of time it was cheaper. Fast forward to two days ago, I called almost 48 hours in advance (to, I think, the same nice girl) to help them out by calling much more than 24 hours in advance, not to mention I was very flexible with time. Both tow drivers, Jason and Austin were pleasant, competent and efficient in getting my car to and from the dealership. I'm very impressed with these guys. I've used them twice, once for a jumpstart and once for a motorcycle tow. The motorcycle tow can use either a flatbed or a dolly truck, and they use padded straps so that no marks are left on the bike. Both the drivers and the dispatch are very professional. I used to use a motorcycle exclusive towing company, but these guys have earned my business and are now my preferred vendor.
Very appreciative, the guy came out with a jump box to kick start my motorcycle. They're prompt and professional, anprice was much better than AAA.

I needed my 1976 Chevy towed to a shop and called Speed's Towing. Kim was my dispatcher and she was awesome. Informative, patient, and nice. I paid for the 24 hour service because I have another vehicle and was in no rush. They showed up about 2 hours later. Austin gave me a call about 20 min out. He was professional, friendly, and easy going. Everything about this process was great and I highly recommend them if you need a tow. Great company!

I've used Speed's four separate times for towing a Tuffshed that many other businesses did not have the capability or expertise to move without damage or great expense. As a former tow yard accountant, I've been around drivers and the business before and Speed's is nothing short of the local best! Professional and polite dispatch, communicative and timely drivers, and fair prices as well! I will continue to use them and would recommend them to anybody looking for a quick, quality tow- especially for sheds!

The tow driver did everything he could get to get my car started when it was parked far back in my garage. He did a lot of maneuvers to get the truck as close as he could and was very mindful of the plants and other obstacles he had around him. I could tell he did not want to give up! The only unfortunate thing was that the extra long jumper cables he carried did not reach, especially because the plug in box was halfway down his cab. We had to borrow from a neighbors because mine were stuck in the trunk of my car that I couldn't open because it was dead. Only think I would recommend is that

I was stuck on the 12th floor of a parking garage in downtown Portland yesterday. Justin showed up to help me and he could not have been more pleasant. My cars gas relay needed to be replaced (we know that today) - somehow we were able to get the car started by doing a trick I found on utube, along with him giving my car extra power. He allowed me to follow him out of the garage and out of downtown Portland to head back to Vancouver. He sent me a text later making sure that I was ok, too. Speeds has a customer for life. I am disabled and was driving to physical therapy when I slid into a curb and banged my rim up. The guys came and put the spare on and we thought we were good to go. They took off and I went cautiously on my way, but my car wasn't driving right at all.
I immediately called the tow truck driver and luckily he wasn't far away. They came back for me and were able to tow me home.
After all of that stress, I wasn't up to pulling the car into the driveway, so one of the gentlemen did it for me. I really appreciated that.
Also, they helped out a fire wife while her husband
