The Ferry Family started Alpine Transmission in 2006. Operated by Len and Derak Ferry (brothers), a set of well-known mechanics in the community working for other businesses over the years. The family opened the shop on M-32 west and in just a few short years out grew it. They moved the business to South Otsego Ave and grew the business to be one of the number one auto repair facilities in the Gaylord area for numerous years.

My vehicle broke down Thursday evening and no one was open. 8am Friday morning we started looking for a place to get us back on the road. Alpine auto took us right in, diagnosed the issue , got the part, and had us back on the road quickly. They were extremely friendly and sympathetic to our dilemma. I would recommend them to anyone.

Called a couple shops, one said they could "look" at my vehicle in a week or two and another never returned my call. Called Alpine and the very friendly front desk people told me to bring it in. I was Called the next day with a price for what could be wrong. Vehicle was fixed in a few days for what I thought was a fair price. Was surprised when I got a text from Alpine several days later asking if my vehicle was fixed to my liking. I think I will be using Alpine regularly!

I will start by saying that I am a fairly experienced backyard mechanic who has been servicing vehicles for over 30 years. The reason I mention this is because even if I had never installed a wiper blade myself I believe they would have treated me no differently. My family and I were on our final road trip from Massachusetts to Michigan before my oldest son headed off to Penn State for his freshman year of college. We pulled into Alpine Auto Repair without an appointment to get our taillight and blinker bulbs replaced on our RV. The kind gentlemen immediately replaced the bulb and checked all our lights. We then asked him how much we owed him and he told us to "have a nice day" and that there was no charge!!! Amazing business!!

I use them for a significant amount of the work on my work trucks, and they never disappoint. The staff genuinely cares about the work they do and the people involved. Any major work I need on a personal vehicle, this would be my first choice. Sometimes hard to get scheduled in, but it's worth the wait if you aren't desperate.

Gotta throw these guys a great review,I been using them a year plus and they have been great with there service. Recently my dad had passed away and I was left his truck. Long story short it needed a new engine in my Ford F-150 after the plug blew threw one of the heads.
I got a remanufactured engine and install for a very fair price. I appreciate the service here

Cassie was very helpful in getting my vehicle in for suspension work. Their tech Len, did a detailed inspection and found over $3,000 of work that needed to be done for me to safely drive my vehicle. I just drove it a few weeks ago to and from Ohio, thankfully nothing happened! Cassie worked diligently with my warranty company and it was all covered and take care of! They were all excellent in communicating with me on what needed to happen, with my warranty company, and did an excellent job in repairing my Explorer! I will not take my vehicle any where else!

My radiator failed while pulling my boat home from Mackinaw City in the 90 degree heat yesterday. This happened at 2 pm, my truck was towed to their shop at 4 pm and they had the new radiator installed and I was on the road at 5:30. They were helpful, friendly, and willing to help me get out of a tough spot. My truck ran nice and cool back home to Holland. Thank you very much Alpine Auto Repair!
