At Maclane's Automotive, we take a holistic approach to all of our customers' vehicles and their diagnostic, service and auto repair needs. We assess each car thoroughly, find the root cause of any automotive issue, we do our research of the make/model/year of the car or truck if necessary, and always consider repairing before replacement (something that makes us different from taking your car to a dealership).
Maclane is an ASE Master Certified Technician with over 11 years of automotive repair experience. A Berks County PA native, Maclane graduated from Wilson High School in West Lawn, PA and completed an automotive technology program at Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Exton, PA.
His career started at Croft's Service Center in West Lawn and, after graduation, he worked for Garnet Volkswagen in Chadds Ford, PA for 9 years - achieving Volkswagen Master Technician Certification and competed in multiple national VW competitions.While Maclane specializes in VW and Audi, he can work on any make, model, car or truck.

Pennsylvania requires vehicle safety inspections to ensure that vehicles are maintained for safe operation. Safety inspections can prevent vehicle failure and crashes that may result in injuries or death. The Emissions inspection program was developed to protect air quality standards. Both of these inspections are required on annual basis for passenger cars and light duty trucks.

Maclane's is an honest mechanic shop with high quality work. Maclane is always working to improve services and provide customers with the best value. I've had custom work, inspection and routine maintenance done there and I'm always satisfied. They have passed up opportunities to charge me more money and always been fair and honest.

Had my brake lines replaced here and the price was really reasonable, $200 less than a shop near me wanted. They also worked with me on my other car with inspection. I was really impressed by the honest, friendly and professional service I received. I will using them again for my truck. 100% recommend this business, shout-out to Aiden for being very helpful!

I originally posted a 5-star review for this mechanic/shop, but I wanted to leave a more personalized message after I received a phone call thanking me for the review. This place is wonderful, I was recommended by a friend and it is the real deal. All the staff is wonderful, polite, and friendly. They truly want you to feel comfortable, and not like you're getting ripped off at your normal mechanic. They are genuine and honest, and communicate throughout your service. Do not hesitate to book an appointment here, you will surely see you made the right decision once you walk in the front door.

I live in Washington DC and try to only service my 97 Honda at Maclane's Automotive when visiting family in the area.
An example why: For years the power wires connecting to my headlights would burn out. I took the vehicle down the road many times to the Honda service center and for years the problem persisted. After over $1000 in "repairs," I made one trip to Maclanes and they fixed the issue with a ceramic connector for $50. The Honda shop and other mechanics would simply replace the burnt out part with another plastic connector, that would again later burn out.

Honest, competent and compassionate owner. I've never had a mechanic make a house call before when there was a suspicion that additional work was required. This is exactly what Maclane did, he repaired the issue and offered a free oil change. This is a testament to this proprietors comment to his customers, I HIGHLY recommend bringing your vehicle here you won't be disappointed!

I went to them for an oil change, months before inspection. They generously pointed out simple things on my car that would not pass my upcoming inspection that I could easily fix on my own for cheap. We did run into a snag getting a windshield from a 3rd party but the guys at Maclane's were so professional and courteous I was able to rent a car through them and not miss work. Will definitely go there again.
