Critical: Communication
I just called to get more information about classes and If I am not mistaken - Ray answered the phone . He didn’t sound interested in answer my questions and rushed me out the phone very rude. I just asked if they were offering in-person classes … no no … bye ? Not a pleasant costumer service .

This is a wonderful find in the manoa community. I previously was not used to this style of yoga however, Shelley has been really great to instruct and guide me step-by-step about the right way to get into the poses. She's really attentive and always correcting students which helps out a whole bunch. The yoga studio is clean And fully equipped with props

Walked into the studio on a Sunday afternoon, just to check it out. I was greeted by Deb who gave her time so graciously to discuss my goals as well as my husbands. That personal connection really made a difference and I can't wait to start my first session here.

Ray and Shelley Madigan, owners of Iyengar Yoga Honolulu, are serious yoga practitioners of the Iyengar yoga method. They are, without a doubt, the best teachers in Hawaii and hold themselves to the highest standards. As a student, they have guided and coached me to learn this method with precision.Their classes are well organized, and structured to build on one pose after the other. By the end of class, the final pose, which would normally seem daunting, is attainable because the teacher has guided you through the preliminary phases necessary to prepare your body and mind. Any person serious about

Best yoga on O'ahu by far. Teachers here are certified through a rigorous system that takes several years beyond the 200 hour standard at most yoga schools. It shows with the detail and precision of each class. Instructors are friendly and can handle students at all levels. Great for beginners to learn the fundamentals of yoga postures as teachers here "teach" and don't simply do their practice along side you. Asanas, or yoga postures, are taught step by step.

I've practiced at several Yoga Studios through the years, however, Iyengar Yoga is hands down the most beneficial place to practice for me. I have had the pleasure to experience the expertise of Shelley, Laurie, Chris and Michael. They are all skilled, wise, helpful and kind. I wouldn't practice anywhere else on the island. They are professional and in tune with every students needs. The studio is clean and has ample parking. Thank You for the healing!

Over the last fifteen years, I've been to a handful of Honolulu yoga studios. Most of the instructors have been fine, but I've never stayed at one place very long. I've been going to Iyengar Yoga Honolulu several times a week for about a year and a half because of the teachers, particularly Shelley and Ray. They have different teaching styles, which I like and appreciate, and both of them are highly dedicated instructors. They consistently go out of their way to make sure new students and those with health concerns or injuries are aware of asanas in class that may be problematic

Disclaimer: I live in San Francisco, and I am on the board of IYISF.

My wife's family is from Honolulu, and we go back at least twice a year. Whenever we are in Honolulu, we go to Ray and Shelley several times a week. Whether you are familiar with Iyengar Yoga or not, I hope you give this studio a try. Ray and Shelley are two of the most accomplished teachers I have had worldwide, and they are two of the nicest people you can meet--what better combination is there?

I noticed a comment about classes not starting on time. It is definitely true, but I see lemonade in these lemons--life

Overall, this is a very nice studio. True to Iyengar Yoga, classes are taught by some very passionate and knowledgeable instructors whom have great focus to detail and positioning. Although, a bit too parochial in their teaching style for my taste, the instructors were well meaning. (I was fearful at times I'd get my wrists smacked with a ruler for misalignment mistakes.) However, I do appreciate their efforts to accommodate my growing pregnant belly and I left feeling better than I had before class. My only gibe (and why they get 3 stars instead of 4) is that that classes chronically start

I've gone to a few yoga studios in Honolulu, and I must say Manoa Yoga definitely ranks up there with the best :)

I walked-in to a beginner's 1 class taught by Shelley over the weekend. She was very personable from the moment we walked in, and continued to be so throughout class. I really liked that she would talk us through the poses, then after watching the class, would demonstrate the pose for us again, vocalizing what we needed to focus on. This is really the perfect way for a beginner to learn yoga.

The studio is nice and breezy. It started raining during our class, which
