A & B Floors, we have been making rooms beautiful with our custom installed and refinished floors since 2001! We are the place to go for hardwood floors in Virginia Beach and the Hampton Roads area! We are your one-stop shop for hardwood refinishing, prefinished wood, vinyl planking, and carpet. We pride ourselves on being accessible, punctual, and doing quality work.
We have a team of professionals, many of which have each been with us for over 15 years who are dedicated to quality service and craftsmanship that you can't get anywhere else! If you're a traditionalist who loves the amber glow of floors finished with oil-based polyurethane, we are your flooring contractor.
We carry a variety of carpet brands and styles to suit your taste, from well-known manufacturers like Shaw and Mohawk, as well as Dixie Homes and Masland, both high-fashion carpet manufacturers. Whether you have a rental home or your forever home, A&B Floors can provide the carpet to suit your individual flooring needs.
This was my first encounter with this contractor and I doubt I could have been more pleased. Beginning with meeting Ed Ambrose, I was impressed with his integrity. We thoroughly discussed the job and set a date to begin that fit my schedule. I believe most of us measure a contractor on not only the quality of their work but how well they follow through with their schedule and responsiveness.

We contacted A & B Floors to get an estimate to fix some problems with a recent flooring installation by a large home improvement store. Stephen came out to look at the issues and completely put our concerns to rest. He was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. In a matter of a few hours, the repairs were done and we were extremely impressed with the outcome! From the first call to the final results, this was an awesome experience. (Also happy that we were utilizing a local family business!) We will be recommending A & B Floors to anyone I know who might be looking at upgrading their flooring

Gary did an incredible job patching and refinishing our floors. Very professional, very talented, will absolutely call him up at A & B next time we need to address a floor issue. We also appreciated all of Liz’s help with paperwork, scheduling and payments. All in all, very pleased with our experience.

We enjoyed working with A&B Floors.They made the process easy. Ed helped us find the wide plank French Oak style engineered hardwood product we wanted. Gary and his team did a fantastic job on the installation and took great care with the details. We are so pleased with the results!

WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER BEEN THROUGH! DO NOT RECOMMEND. We ran into a number of issues with this company.
1. They were late
2. The head installer arrived late after the team, walked in, looked at my boyfriend (the home owner) and walked right past and then asked who the homeowner was, which was rude.
3. We were told not all the rooms were going to be finished because the head installer has to leave early so he can play in his band that night.. IM SORRY WHAT?
4. They completely forgot part of our order, the LVP we ordered as well was never written down and the installers had no idea about

We just had Luxury Vinyl planks installed in our entire downstairs, and also had our stairs redone in real hardwood and we are so impressed with the quality and professionalism of this Job.
Gary (crew leader) went above and beyond the call of duty as far as I am concerned, he did not cut any corners, in fact he did more than was expected, IE - Added screws to the second landing to take out the squeaks, added longer screws the the stairs hand rails to make them Extra strong. This guy is a true professional and cares about his work, which is rare if you ask me.
Also, Ed the salesman was a pleasure

We recently had our whole down stairs floors redone in Luxury Vinyl Planks and also had the carpets replaced on the stairs with real hard wood and these guys did such a great job. Gary and his crew were very professional and knowledgeable and went above and beyond the call of duty by fixing extra things, like removing the squeaks from the upstairs floors, adding extra long screws on the stairs hand rails for extra support and strength.
I am a stickler and watched everything they did and these guys are Top Notch professionals. I highly recommend A&B Flooring.

The A&B Flooring Team was incredible to work with and really delivered on our remodeling project! They installed new and refinished original floor and stained all in nearly 4,000 sq feet (LOTS of shoe molding cuts). They crew communicated well and cleaned up after themselves. I totally recommend A&B flooring!

Highly recommended! Gary and team of A&B Floors completely transformed the floors in our newly purchased home! The floors we inherited, while beautiful, were very red and did not match our furniture or personal taste. Another local company recommend staining but warned that since the wood was Brazilian Cherry it would still pull red. Ed of A&B suggested dyeing and we are thrilled with the results! Gary and crew were so knowledgeable, professional and did great work! Thanks, A&B!!

A&B Floors were very professional from start to finish. It started with the owner Ed Ambrose when he came to our home to give us an estimate on resurfacing our hardwood floors. On the day the job started, Gary and his team did a fantastic job answering all my questions and making sure I was satisfied throughout the entire process. Our floors look amazing and it's like walking in a new home!! I highly recommended this family owned business. I'm giving them five starts for their professional, reliability and quality of their work!
