Owner of Home Inspections by Dana. I started performing inspections part-time in early 1992 while I was a full time carpenter and general contractor. Shortly after becoming a home inspector, I realized I had found my true calling and decided to make home inspections my career. I custom built inspection form sets for performing home inspections, which include digital/defect photos, defect recognition clipart and color prioritized findings.
To protect and serve my customers by delivering a prompt, thorough and professional inspection of the building for a reasonable price. Inspections are conducted in accordance with the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. Copies of these are available at www.nachi.org/sop.
Many inspectors recommend and request their clients attend the entire home inspection. I have learned many things in my 25 years of performing home inspections. One of my greatest learning experiences is that distractions during the inspection can hurt the inspection process. For many years I had my clients follow me around while performing my inspections, which was customary at the time.
While I do not personally provide all the ancillary services listed below, I have several sub-contractors that provide some of these services for me. I can setup these services for you, or I can give you references and contact information if you would prefer to set up these services on your own. I do not charge setup fees for ancillary services, nor do I make any money off of these sub-contractors.

Dana is nothing but professional and overly thorough during his inspections. He is happy to answer any and all questions that you may have. I was always taught you are either early or you're late, Dana was ahead of schedule when he came to inspect my home for a buyer and when I hired him myself to inspect a home I was purchasing. Dana is very thorough and professional. His report is also more reader-friendly than a lot we've seen. We used him to inspect a home that we were buying. Dana was great to work with - very professional and thorough. Had the pleasure of working with Dana for a home inspection. Moving to the area from Chicago-land and he was recommended by our realtor. Spoke with him on the phone and then meeting him during the inspection Dana was extremely knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions. Spent about 4 hours going through the home and then about an hour with us afterwards discussing his findings and recommendations. For a buyer, he is a go to person as he extremely thorough, detailed and fair. Would highly recommend him to anyone doing a home inspection.

Home Inspections by Dana is a top notch inspection company if you are needing a home or building inspected. He was extremely helpful and easygoing throughout the entire inspection process. Dana's use of color coding issues within the inspection report is a huge plus. He talked to me about the entire inspection and I was able to keep up and understand the issues that he had seen.
