Since the dojo opened again, we were very glad to be able to give our son another opportunity to go back. Social distancing is being followed and the measures that are being implemented made us feel confident that our son would be safe. Only students are allowed inside the dojo, but, the availability to watch the classes via Zoom has been great, since we can even also involve our distant family, and that has served as encouragement for our son.

We started coming here over 3 years ago with our oldest son (then age 5) and our younger son started back in March and just completed his yellow belt test. We love how clean and safe the environment is, how quick the staff are in response to our inquiries and how professional the entire experience is. Shihan Mike is wonderful with the kids and parents. I myself even took some self-defense and kickboxing lessons with him and have cherished the knowledge and skill has has shared with me as well as my kiddos. We absolutely recommend this dojo for your martial arts experience.

They booked a private lesson for my 6 year old - when we showed up, Mike was out of town and we were told they cancelled our appointment - there we never w call or email cancelling it.
This kid got all excited about starting karate to not even have them be in town!

The fact that they didn't even call kids to cancel is so aggravating. I would have been fine w a cancellation / reschedule had they called and let me know.

I would not trust my kids heart with these people again.

My son began Martial Arts with Shihan Mike a few months ago and it has been nothing short of amazing. To see him dedicate himself, be excited to attend class and participate fully has been a blessing. Shihan Mike has a fantastic way with the kids - he makes learning fun yet demands respect and attention. The classes are a perfect mix of exercise, discipline and fun. We can't say enough about the Martial Arts Center and its staff. We look forward to a long relationship with this dojo and would recommend it to anyone. Even now - with COVID - I feel safe in that environment. WE LOVE YOU SHIHAN MIKE

Our son has been going to The Martial Arts Center for more than 3 years now and loves it.
Shihan Mike is a great instructor and always has a positive attitude.
His teaching does not stop at martial arts instructions. He teaches respect, kindness, patience, good manners.
We benefited from Shihan's instructions and advice on so many other areas with our son.

My 13 yo daughter has been at the Martial Arts Center for the past 3 years. I’ve been very happy and would absolutely recommend this karate studio. Shihan Mike is top notch and provides a great environment and experience for his students. In addition to the core skills of karate, he provides valuable ongoing life coaching to kids. This is critical. He’s also done a phenomenal job with offering COVID-friendly (in-person and virtual) classes. He never missed a beat and during the months when his facility was closed for in-person classes this past spring, he diligently provided two online workouts

Our son is six and has taken lessons at TMAC for about a year. Over that time, he has developed tremendously, not only in karate, but in character, confidence, and many other positive ways both inside and outside the dojo. Shihan Mike brings an amazing energy to every class - a blend of firmness and fun - to which our son has responded in kind. It’s been a wonderful experience for our whole family.

My son started this year and loves Shihan Mike and his dojo! He wants to go to class every day. This is a clean, positive place where one does not only learn karate, but also important life lessons. We look forward to my son attending TMAC for years to come and experiencing growth in the process.

My daughter, who is 6, has so enjoyed being a part of The Martial Arts Center! Since day one, she is excited to go to class. Shihan Mike is great with the kids, he teaches them responsibility in ways that gives them confidence and makes them feel good about themselves. He expects respect & still makes it fun for everyone. He instills the importance of character in his teachings. He helps the kids stay focused, but understand they are still kids. It’s been a very important part of her every week & we look forward to growing with TMAC!

My son has been practicing karate at TMAC for over 6 years, and it continues to be a great experience for him. In addition to the fitness and karate skills, Shihan Mike instills ongoing character building into his teaching style every class to ensure that all of his younger students develop into well-rounded young adults. He truly cares about all of his students and their successes.

The Martial Arts Center is wonderful. My son is a current student and he enjoys attending class. Shihan Mike not only instructs his students on the physical techniques of martial arts, but he also focuses on building self esteem, respecting yourself and your peers, and being the best version of yourself. We are happy to be a part of such a wonderful program and I look forward to seeing my child grow within the school.

I can't say enough good things about Shihan Mike and TMAC. My 6-year-old has been transformed. We started karate because my son was getting poor conduct reports from school on a regular basis. Since we started? Perfect conduct scores everyday. He loves going to class and practicing in the evening. A great experience in every way.

Immediately, Shihan Mike treats his students as family. I am 29 years old and joined a few weeks ago. Totally out of shape, the classes were challenging for me. While I was pushed to work hard, I was given a clear, personalized path to work at a pace that worked for where I was starting from.

The culture he has created of love, care, respect and hard work in the dojo is palpable. The curriculum and belt advancement/testing requirements are laid out extremely clearly to allow one to work at their own pace.

His humility is also impressive. For almost 2 months I was completely unaware of his

My daughter and I joined The Martial Arts Center together in February. I am getting so much out of class, not only am I already seeing physical improvements in myself, but am also benefiting from a psychological standpoint. I am enjoying the other students of all levels, backgrounds and ages, getting to know them and learning from them as well. I am very impressed with the school Shihan Michael and his team have built and specifically how he teaches, making the classes interesting, challenging, fun and serious all at the same time. I highly recommend this program and hope to see you there.

Having trained at two different dojos for 15 years when I was younger, I knew what I was looking for. I looked at a dozen places in Atlanta before I found TMACenter and right away I could see it was the best place. The instructors really know what they're doing and why they're doing it, and can explain it clearly. Safety is always first and I'm learning tons every night! As soon as my kids are old enough, they'll be enrolled here too.

The Martial Arts Center is an outstanding venue from not only the martial arts perspective but also as a place of enriching one's mental state and constantly building one's physical strength through effective exercises. I attended for over 2 years and if I had not had to relocate to another state I would still be there today.

Shihan Hernandez is the real deal. His knowledge of Karate as well as the history and culture surrounding is as great as his skill in the art, which is to say substantial. He's not afraid to get down on the mat and be totally active in every aspect of the

I have watched my son grow and develop under Sensei Mike Hernandez' leadership. The teacher is kind, firm, and inspirational. Every 4-year-old should give this a try. My son is now six, and although we could practice more at home, he smiles and works hard the whole class. We attend three times a week - and he has risen to a blue-belt. Give this art a try!
