We reserved a Handicapped room for $258. on New Year’s Eve. The bathroom had no heat and the toilet was not handicapped. The toilet was not at handicapped height! It is unfortunate how the elderly are taken! If you advertise Handicapped Room, then make it handicapped! We spoke to the Manager and she said she would take a little off the charge of the room! Very disappointed!

Decided to treat a few teenage boys to a fun sleepover to kick off school winter vacation break here at the John Carver Inn seeing they had a fun indoor pool as well.
The entire place is incredibly outdated and shows Great need of care throughout. Outdated....we can handle....but dirty not so much.
Scattered food wrappers, empty drink glasses scattered right when you walked in the main check in area.
Room was naturally outdated with grey paneling covering the walls. The small "toy like" coffee maker was filled with old milk or cream that was petrified, beyond curtailed and

Went to the restaurant there the service was awesome but I commented to all of them that they should have more lighting out front and lighting inside the doorways very dark I wouldn't have known there was a restaurant there

We stayed here in the summer and it was great. We loved the water park, especially the slide. The pool was a good temperature and slide rules were enforced. There is also a hot tub “disguised” as Plymouth Rock. The pool room also had a deck outside that you can go on. The rooms were also great and had everything that hotel rooms need. If you are looking to stay in Plymouth, the John Carver Inn is the place to stay, especially for families. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Place is very dated. It looks like there doing upgrades in hallways as I seen new lighting and ceiling tiles and carpet. The front entrance doesn't give that impression though.
The front desk was not very helpful. There was a girl with purple hair who really was not helpful and I don't like going to a hotel/Inn and being greeted by a person with purple hair it does not inspire me to think the place is top notch in anyway.
All in all would look to stay elsewhere if we are back in the area.

My family and I had Thanksgiving dinner 2021
The soup and dinners were cold, apple pie came out frozen yes, frozen! The waitress although sweet was inexperienced I had to ask for forks with the deserts and spoons for the coffee. It was loud, rushed, and over priced. Very poor

Our trip was for our daughters birthday, while she did have fun, I would not stay again. We booked it for the sole purpose of the water slide and pool. The water slide was shut down for most of our stay, and it was severely packed the first day. We were thinking because of covid, it wouldn't be so bad and maybe a cap on people would be put into place, but it was very crowded. Cleanliness by the pool and hallway carpets were a downside for me. Also, witnessed a guest and employee raising their voices back and forth to each other over the water slide being down. The guest was visibally and understandably

This hotel was such a major disappointment. Hot tub and pool were cold. Hot tub was at 70 degrees and air temp was 58 degrees. Front desk staff was non responsive and said owner was aware but offered nothing else. Restaurant was closed both days for our reservations but was not informed even though we asked about on-site dining prior to booking. Sent an email to general manager and received no correspondence back. Was a 60th birthday celebration that was a total disappointment.

Stayed at the John Carver Inn for Halloween Weekend. Our stay was great! The hotel is doing some renovations but the holiday décor really helped disguise the construction. The front desk staff is wonderful. We got a lot of help from Sam and Breelan, these girls were great our group was so needy. The kids were obsessed with the slide and us adults couldn't get enough of the bar. Some seemed to complain about water temp but we thought it was fine, I mean its a pool not a hot tub, right? Tim was great fixing the slide right away. The staff let us park anywhere we fit cause the parking lot was full

Appreciated the proximity to Main Street and the waterfront. Saw many historic sites in the area. Pool area looked super fun for kids. Restaurant was cute with good food. All the staff were extremely pleasant.

Our recent 7 night stay here was marred by the following:
1) Dark/dingy, small suite. Pictures on their web page were very deceptive. All they did to make a "suite" was to take a regular size room, put up a wall with a French door separating the 2 halves.
2) First night, my wife untucked the sheets on her side to climb in, and discovered the aged foam mattress sprinkling dried out foam debris all over the floor and her sweater.
3) The toilet was trickling water into the bowl constantly.
4) The small refrigerator in the bedroom side froze everything. We tried to use the temperature

Chrissy took great care of eight of us. The service was fantastic and the appetizers were delicious. She took great care to make sure our group was very well taken care of. I went four stars only because we weren’t there for full dinner service - what we had was all thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Was not very impressed. Place was not that clean, it is under staffed( couldn't find an employee for 35 minutes while checking in and had no where to park but a public lot down the street where it did not look or seem like I wanted my car parked there) called many many times in a row while trying to find someone to check in with and help with the parking. The pool good sized and was great for the kids.Has 1 slide they loved. Paid $375 for 1 night. Was definitely not worth it. If your looking for a high end hotel/resort this is probably not what you want

Great experience. The rooms were not dated at all, I'm not sure what other reviews mean when they say it. Check-In and Out was an absolute breeze, Parking was no additional charge. The restaurant on site has great breakfast and friendly staff. I was just traveling with a friend but I'm sure this would be a great place for families too!

My family and I stayed here for a two night visit. The hotel room is outdated. We had a room with 2 queen beds or should I say canoes. They were the most uncomfortable mattresses. My son slept on a lumpy cot and it turned out to be more comfortable than the actual beds. The walls are very thin and you can hear alarm clocks going off in the room next to yours.. I'm giving this 3 stars only because of the pool which my kids loved. Other than that I wouldn't stay here again. There are plenty of other places to stay in Plymouth.

THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY.

On June 27th, 2021, my boyfriend and I checked in to the John Carver Inn and Spa around 4pm. We booked one of the suites that included a hot tub. After enjoying a great night out in Plymouth, we came back to the room and started up the hot tub. When I came back to the room after I went downstairs to get some ice, my boyfriend pointed out the floating MOUSE DROPPINGS in our filled jacuzzi. When my boyfriend turned the jets on AS HE WAS IN THE HOT TUB, the droppings flew out.

We immediately took pictures and videos and headed to the front desk to

If you stay here - beware of eating at CJ's Bar and Grill. You're supposed to receive a 10% discount if you're a guest. We were treated extremely rudely by the manager on duty when we asked for the discount. I have never been treated like that before - quite surprising. Food was fair. Flatbread pizza had very little toppings. Chicken avocado sandwich was good. Beef tips were fair. Sam Adams beer was warm. Pricing was good; but dinners were brought minutes after salads were served. If you don't expect too much - perhaps you will have a better experience. I was expecting better

Great location close to the ocean and mayflower and historic houses. An easy walk to lots of restaurants as well. Hotel itself is a little run down. Pool is impressive and got lots of wows from my kids but is also crowded. Beds comfortable.

Very disappointed in the accommodations at the John Carver Inn. Room had seen its finer day. Wallpaper pealing off the wall, stains on the carpet, and furniture upholstery ripped. One coffee cup for 2 people. Bathroom was clean but bathtub didn't drain. All in all not a good experience.

The John Carver Inn & Spa has the benefit of being in the heart of Plymouth, Massachusetts and, quite literally, only steps away from Plymouth Rock and quite close to the Mayflower II.

The exterior is attractive and rather stately. The inside is a bit more dated, though the Inn has added additional features to appeal to the touristy nature of the area and the history of the place.

The Inn offers both guest rooms and suites. I found the room to be fairly accessible, though certainly in a more adapted kind of way. In some hotels/motels, you get the sense that accessibility was built into

The spa is not open on Sundays and Jackie opened the spa just for us, on Memorial Day weekend! She ordered us drinks from the bar downstairs between our treatments and even offered to make a dinner reservation for us at a local restaurant.
We booked a bachelorette party of 9 in the spa. Jackie (the manager) was incredibly attentive and patient. We had a big party and everyone had multiple treatments. The staff was polite and absolutely wonderful.
We are all from out-of-town and would 100% come back just for the spa experience! The staff was amazing, the spa was clean, and the treatments were relaxing

The kids love it, so I'll start with that. The pool is the main draw. If it wasn't for the pool and water slide, then we would have looked elsewhere. We opted for a suite so that the kids could sleep in a separate area. Space is tight and we could barely fit a twin inflatable mattress next to the pull out couch. That's fine though; the kids didn't mind, but it again it's very tight even without the air mattress. The staff was friendly and responsive. My biggest issue was how easily we could hear everything in the rooms on either side. The first night we could hear loud

I really wanted to give a glowing review but can't. We showed up mid week for 2 nights. We had gift certs given to us with more than enough to cover the room and spa visit. Our spa visit was cut because of covid which was reasonably, along with a closed restaurant, bar, and jacuzzi by the pool. The pool area had no ventilation and no one was wearing masks in the area at all.
$143 was taken out of my account for incidentals after being told they only needed to have the card number as a backup.
We were "upgraded" to a "suite with a jacuzzi". The room was normal room sized
