Krav Maga is based on simple principles and instinctive movements. This reality-based system is designed to teach street-tested self defense in the shortest amount of time possible. Learn to defend against common chokes, grabs, and bearhugs, as well as weapons such as guns, knives, and sticks. Equally important, Krav Maga teaches you to function during the stress and psychological trauma of a sudden/violent encounter.
You will also learn how to gain power over your own fight/flight responses so you can choose the correct solution to any situation. Kore Krav Maga features Israeli trained and certified Instructors with direct Lineage to the founder, Imi Lichtenfeld (Sde-Or). We invite you to train with the most dynamic, practical, and easily learned self-defense system in Loudoun County.

Kore Self-Defense is the Personal Defense Industries' physical training center located in Loudoun County, Virginia providing self-defense training built from a Krav Maga Curriculum originally developed by Eyal Yanilov. Building from this foundation, our curriculum is fueled by continuous research in the evolution of conflict and violence in the post-modern world.
Kore Warriors, our certified KMG Kids & Youth self defense program groups children according to developmentally appropriate training levels. We have Three Unique divisions, Kids, Youth, and Juniors. Each division has 5 ranks that can be earned through a positive grading process. Children change divisions by age, not by rank.
And Kore can help bring that alive for students across the gender spectrum. Home to the #500Rising Project, we are the premier self-defense training center for women in the U.S. It's not an idle claim, although it is a bold one and we stand confidently behind it.
Specifically, our programming integrates the physical and psychological training that can reduce the risk of being targeted for types of violence particularly concerning to women (rape, abduction, sexual assault & partner-based abuse).Kore is owned and operated by one of the top ranked women in the United States.

I've only taken about a half dozen classes here but so far I'm impressed. The instructors are quite good. In the distant past I trained in some Japanese-based martial arts, but I felt that I could understand and practice the techniques being taught reasonably well. In the beginners course they did a good job of introducing new students to the material without overwelming or intimidating them. IMHO the class schedule they offer can't be beat in this area.

An excellent school for those looking for a true self defense system. Unlike more traditional martial arts schools which can be intimidating to new students with training formalities/traditions and complicated techniques which can take months or years to perfect, Kore focuses on reliable, tested techniques that the students can quickly incorporate into their self defense "tool box". The monthly member seminars allow the students to take the tool box and apply it in real world situations, whether it be defense against a weapon, a scenario in a bar/club, or a parking lot confrontation. My son and my wife love Kore Krav Maga. The instructors all have different teaching styles that compliment each other. We always come out with practical self defense skills from every class.
Additionally, the training curriculum has pushed my wife to operate outside of typical stereotypes. For my son, it is teaching him awareness and control. For myself, the additional training has made me lose 15lbs since February.
We always feel welcome and part of the "tribe" whenever any of us show up.

I have been going to Kore Krav Maga since before Chief Instructor Tammy Yard McCracken opened the current facility on Red Rum Dr last year. I have been training under Tammy since around November 2012, when she first offered an intensive Krav Maga intro seminar out of the CrossFit Impavidus gym in Ashburn. Prior to joining Kore, I had very little exposure to martial arts. From the very beginning, Tammy and Assistant Instructors Dan McCracken and Andre Lagamba encouraged my interest in learning Krav Maga. They have provided both a nurturing and challenging training environment. Tammy, in particular

Krav Maga is a great thing to for all of us to learn and Kore is a great place to learn it! I have been a student there since the very beginning. Lead instructor Tammy and her husband Dan make a great teaching team. They are very patient, and make allowance for each student's strengths and weaknesses. You can tell that they honestly care about every one of their students. They call us the "Kore tribe," which is appropriate, because training at Kore is more like being part of a family than just being a paying student.
Krav Maga is something we should all learn. Not only does it teach you to defend

Kore Krav Maga is a great alternative to my regular workout routine and I am learning a valuable skill at the same time. The instructors breakdown each defense move into very easy to understand sets and then teach how each defense is applied in a real-world situation. All skill levels, all body types, and all age groups would definitely benefit from this type of training and exercise. Personally, I feel stronger and more aware of my surroundings. I truly believe that I could defend myself should the need occur. I love it!

The staff, training and environment at Kore Krav Maga are all exceptional.
Tammy, Dan and the rest of the Kore Team are incredibly experienced and talented instructors. They make each and every class both educational and fun. Class content and instruction varies greatly and going to train each night never feels like a routine. The gym is super clean and in great-shape.
The Kore "Tribe" of fellow students is exceedingly open, supportive and friendly. After a few short weeks here, you'll truly feel like "one of the gang."
All in all, if you're looking to start (or continue) Krav Maga training

Since I started training at Kore about a year ago my self confidence, physical condition and mental prowess have all been sharpened in ways I don't believe I would have discovered otherwise. Since the first time I spoke with Tammy on the phone and stepped on to the mat with Dan (having pretty much zero previous experience) I have found a new love in my life that I share with the other members of the tribe. All of the instructors are incredibly friendly and love teaching everyone, regardless of experience/skill level. I recommend Kore for anyone that's interested in self defense and/or physical
