Rent is due on the first of each month. You can access your account and pay your rent online or deliver it to our office. If the office is closed, you may leave your rent payment in the mail slot outside of the front door. If your rent is past due, a late fee will be assessed to your account. I recently moved in and had great experience with leasing team, especially with Jessica. They provide very instant responses for every inquiry and very helpful. Maintenance is also expedite and gets the job done in time. Overall building condition is clean and cozy. As a landlord doing my best to be sympathetic to tenants (especially during this pandemic which is impacting everyone) I have found SG to be responsive and responsible. I had a great experience working with Jessica at SG Real Estate and than Jody at the apartment complex. Jessica was very helpful and quick to answer my questions. She made the move in process flawless. Jody is the on-site manager at the apartment complex and is honestly the best. She goes above and beyond to take care of everyone living at the complex. I looked at dozens of apartments in my hunt for a new place and found that Jorge and Jessica (both from SG) were the most informative, professional and down-to-earth of all of the leasing agents I interacted with. I haven't needed to put in any work requests for anything yet but they've been very helpful and responsive during my move into the apartment. Also, I hope to get a pit bull soon so it was important to me that my new place be dog friendly. I found that many companies advertise as being dog friendly only to tell you about size and breed restrictions when you show up to see the place. SG

Dang! What's up with all the negative reviews here? I've encountered a lot of Property Management companies, and my mom works in the business, and these guys have always met my expectations and the people I've interacted with have always been helpful and communicative. Allan in the maintenance department, Tony and Gary are always very helpful with maintenance, and if something can not be fixed same day as scheduled, they usually always let us know. I feel like people expect property managers to be personal servants or something, like Four Seasons like concierge, but get real

Jessica and the SG Team were kind, courteous, and professional throughout the entire move-in process. They were patient with me as I found a roommate to split costs with, walked me through all the lease documents, and had quick response times, both on the phone and through email. Maintenance in the apartment has been quick and there's an online system for submitting requests. I've had a great experience in the unit in the month I've been living here so far. Would recommend leasing through SG Real Estate to others.

My housemates and I have repeatedly emailed about receiving a parking spot and we were continuously ignored by the management here at SG Real Estate. Because of this, my housemate has had a catalytic converter stolen, I have received 2 tickets due to insufficient parking, and have just had an overall horrible experience at this property. Our mailboxes are continuously opened and despite having reached out, we have not gotten any emails back.

Not the best real estate company. Paul was helpful. Other employees here either doesn't respond to emails and returns voicemails. We had some issues while residing here. The families residing in this building were nice.
I am not sure how the real estate had the time to review and answer my ratings 2 months after moving out but does not have the time to answer my emails during my stay here.

It is amazing that this company has time to respond to reviews however no time for potential new residents. They replied once and asked for me to send in ID to view an apartment but then I didn’t hear anything else even after sending follow-up emails and making follow-up calls. I certainly hope this lack of interest is not because of the color of my skin. Things that make you go Hmmm?! Their loss.

I began renting with SG in May despite the other negative reviews on this page. I really loved the unit I toured and was optimistic. On move in day I was not even provided the keys to my building and my unit had not been cleaned (in a Pandemic!). Since moving in I had submitted multiple work requests (the oven/stove was inoperable for 2 weeks, the furnace makes loud clanking noises throughout the day and night and this issue is still unresolved. Would not recommend this property management company at all.

Avoid SG Real Estate if you can. I am in one of their beautiful properties in Oakland which is the only positive thing I can say: The actual building and area is great.
The management (Jessica Vernaglia and team) is the worst I have ever experienced (maintenance team great! btw). I've lived all over the Bay and the country and SG Real Estate takes 1st prize for being the worst.

Because I work in the industry as a Leasing Specialist and Assistant Manager for mid-rise/high-rise new construction in the Bay Area, I am VERY PARTICULAR in my requests, how/where I choose to live, and quite knowledgeable in Fair Housing. I recently moved out thankfully, and I just want to confirm and validate all of the reviews that describe SG as an unresponsive, irresponsible, shady property management company.
