Joseph Mess is originally from Columbus, Ohio and the community of Clintonville, in particular. He attended St. Charles Preparatory High School along with his brother and cousins. Dr. Mess completed his bachelor and doctorate degrees at The Ohio State University where was recognized for his achievements by the OSU Board of Trustees and the American Dental Education Association.
Our office has always been considered one of the premier orthodontic practices in Columbus and Upper Arlington. Established in 1948 by Dr. Charles W. Miller, our office is one of the longest enduring orthodontic practices in Ohio. From innovative patents on orthodontic instruments to original research into longstanding orthodontic problems, we have always been at the forefront of orthodontic care.
Orthodontic patients are usually seen at 4-8 week intervals. Most short appointments are scheduled between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on school days, while longer and more complicated procedures (once every three to five months) are scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Consistency in keeping your appointments is extremely important for steady progress.

I have had 3 teens go through braces with both Dr Cook and Dr Mess. (One going through round two braces now,) I cannot say enough great things about this practice! The entire staff is SO caring and friendly. The wait time (assuming the patient is on time) is never more than 5-10 minutes. They are informative throughout the whole process with patients and parents. There are no frills in this office, just the standard tv and magazines in the waiting area. But the prices are reflective of that. Many local ortho offices we visited (at least 4 others) had SO many perks in the waiting area- while impressive
